Most of you probably know this. I'll just bring it up here with the <a href='http://www.hardc0re.co.uk/downloads/HLvoice_commands.txt' target='_blank'>link</a> to remind people...

While the dev team is still working on the mute player option, lamers are starting to use this as an advantage and ruin the games for others. I for one had been in this situation for twice at least, and they were both on a very good server (Fists of Ra, how I love thee...)

You can mute the player... with the expense of muting ALL the other players.

This comand shuts off the voice system (if zero) and enables it (if 1).

I know it is not really that great a solution, but before the dev team makes a mute option, to ease out the pain of having listening to all those stupid music scripts or what not, we can just set every voice off and play the old fashion Halflife Multiplayer.

Besides, the "ignore" console command does not work at all.

I think the dev team needs to find a way to mute the typing players too... as they spam the messages and important communications go *boom*.

If anyone find this not useful at all, I'm sorry. I'm just trying to help those who suffers.<span style='color:orange'> </span>

    At the moment I'm still searching for the console command to ignore certain player. However I find no luck... Damn.

    By the way, I strongly suggest any Server admin to ban this wonid 277679 especially Fists of Ra. He not only voice spam with music script, he could also spam the text messages and crash the server... almost everytime... :o

    His name last seen was "Pee Pee Boy". Anyone who joined a server with this player had better hope it's not the same person.

    Since they can't communicate anyway if someone is spamming, it's not problem. Just type in "Tell me when he stops spamming the voice comm, please. I've turned off voice."

    We had a spammer and he was playing the Popeye theme. It was a B trying to communicate over it. There really needs to be a Ignore Voice Command.

    How can I pick up thier wonid's? I tried but it's been a long time since I had to monkey with many console commands.

    To get their wonids, type: status
    It will look something like this
    #18 "DomesticX" 89 <b>2003993</b> 4 22:10 66 0
    #19 "Name here" 63 xxxx097 0 1:28:22 120 0
    #20 "Name Here" 48 xxx418 0 1:57:37 141 0
    The bold numbers is the wonid.

    It can be amusing for anything up to 0.8 seconds, but then you want a mod which allows you to brutally stab them in the face through their monitor. Maybe that could be in the next patch?

    The other day some guy called "Jacques in the Box" was spamming some annoying tune. He was kicked after a warning. He came back on and proceded to spam "myg0t pwns this server."     So what if the server was a little slow? It's one less home for lamers.

    Also, if you turn voice_enable off and then on again, it will only pick up NEW comms. This means that if somebody is holding down the voice key and constantly playing that sailor song, you won't hear them again until they let go of the key and then press it down again, but you will hear other players talking (probably yelling at him to stop, though).

    Why can't people be creative if they're going to voice spam? Like playing a calvalry charge when the onos go in, or something? It's always gotta be Madonna or some crap they spew.

    I found out that it is possible to mute people with the score menu (TAB)

    but that was only possible in Ready Room....

    I thought of a way, and i'm going to try it... if it works i'll post again.

    At one time though, there was a guy who started playing the bennyhill theme when onos and fades were chasing down the last marines on the map....

    Doesnt really fit with the theme of NS, but it sure was hillarious
