    I still have the offline version... That awesome manual was one of the biggest reasons I started playing ns... I remember spending hours reading; no memorizing it before actually started playing... ^_^

    I hope new official manual will be as good as that one...

    EDIT: the second link is not the <b>official</b> NS3.0 manual...

    awwww...you sir brought back sad memories :
    with this most advanced ability, the Gorge becomes a kind of hive itself. It can spontaneously create primitive, fully autonomous Skulks, that attack any enemies nearby. These Skulks are not as powerful or clever as hive spawned ones, and are also unstable. If not destroyed in combat, they self-destruct after 15 seconds, doing damage to any enemies nearby (a lesser version of xenocide).

    Long live the babbel babbel babbblerss.

    Yeah the old manual was great from a backstory perspective and very nostalgic.

    the new manuel doesn't have much of a story behind it <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Old manual was okay for backstory, horrible as a manual. As a newbie, I can remember it not providing answers I needed. In fact, I didn't even know what parts of it directly pertained to the game and what parts didn't. Was a bit silly for a "manual".

    It's okay for reading.

    The days, when NS made the most fun.

    Gore 120
    Acid Rocket 50, lesser splash damage
    Xenocide 400/800(), reduces outwards

    These days aliens actually even dealt damage.

    It pretty much is the same. Only the NSGuide manual had many helpers, NiteOwl got it up for the offical <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I loved the first manual, my story situational ethics had a link to the offical 1.xx manual. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I've had many good laughs thanks to Babblers, the first time I saw them swim, spawning them inside an Onos...ahhh the memories.

    The original manual was great, from a background perspective. From a utility perspective, it wasn't a huge amount of use. Sadly, my editing was limited to grammar, spelling and occasionally successfully arguing for a few things to be clarified. With all that said and done, I still think Jeff did very well in meeting his brief, which was above all to make the manual engaging and interesting to read.
