Any Way To Turn Off Ambient Music?

<div class="IPBDescription">fps KILLER</div> My least favorite map is caged... I LOVE the architecture, I LOVE the gameplay, I LOVE the texturing.... I hate the framerates. It's playable as Marine, but as soon as we inevitably start winning, I switch to alien... and... WHAM, 2 fps. No kidding.

I tried to avoid playing caged for a long time and then I figured out why my framerates were so low: ambient mp3s. Obviously my system isn't capable of playing 2 mp3s at once (hell, it has enough trouble playing 1). Is there any way to make it NOT play the ambient mp3s? I know that if I actually delete the files, I'll be forced to download them from the server when I connect (and then they would play anyway).

    Go into multiplayer>customisation>advanced options and then uncheck the box that says "music enabled".

    If disabling that music fails, just replace the music files with dummy files.

    i done that but i added a 128kb/s wav file , that wasnt a good idea cause it takes 2 mins to load and ns just stops working, but In Flames playing in the background makes the game play seem faster

    I won't go through the entire process, since the devs may consider it an exploit, but IF SOMEONE UP HIGH APPROVES, I will post a quick three files that can eliminate the ambience, especially for those of you with the same problem I had: The power silo hive being so loud it hurt your ears, etc.

    No, but its a good gesture to ask the devs since they made the mod and intended it to be played in a certain way. Im sure they dont mind as long as it helps us poor souls with slow computers who get 4 fps in caged.

    Imho, thats the only unplayable map for me in NS so i wouldnt mind having a fix available...

    I have deleted those *.mp3 files and played for a while, ... but this really suxxx.
    Its boring without them, they are need for a good ambience.. But plz not that loud
