You can either take on the role of a brave soldier choosing between many unique classes and ranging in abilities. One player from each team can choose to be the leader of your elite squadron and aid his squad by building and playing in a traditional RTS style.There is a resource model, a tech tree,structures and upgrades(like games such as Warcraft And Command & Conqeur).

Sounds like NS style gameplay. Hopefully NS:S will beat it to the source punch.

Point 1) Unknown Worlds Entertainment has a development team, and has had a development team, with more talent, knowledge and people in this past year, than this modification for HL2 will most likely ever have. There are more people crunching on a NS:S port (not saying they have begun integral porting work) than this modification has.
Point 2) Seeing point 1, you must know that this Modification's progress report is as follows.

Modeling, 2.5. Wow, I think UWE has their work cut out for them already though. Documentation? Well, okay..
Take this for instance, the HL2 SDK came out, what, 2-3 months ago? Most likely, the devs have been doing a lot more toying with it than these guys. Unless this mod gains major financial backing and/or comes out within the next few weeks, theres no foreseeable similar competition for NS:S.
All these new mods coming out for HL2, okay yeah.. some of them will be similar, but most likely, in the race for a port, NS:S will get there very fast.
I find it highly unlikely the mod will even come out <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
If it does, kudos to them. But the fact is, many of these mods won't see the light of day. I don't know if this one will, but if it does, I'm sure there will be some form of NS to rival it.
We have Battlefield 2, Insurgency, Eternal Silence, etc. etc.
NS just made it 'popular.'

Yea isn't it always a good thing when the founder can do a lot of coding too? The real hard and tedious work? Also modeling\skinning etc that takes a lot of talent and time?
$20 this mod gets abandoned.
This means remaking ALL textures. Rebuilding ALL models. Remapping everything (well, expected). And this doesn't even factor in the new physics system, lighting effects, shader effects... generally everything HL2 offers that HL1 does not. Not to mention that a good portion of NS is outright hackery, forcing the HL engine to do things it was never meant to... Commander mode, for example.
So NS:S may be worked on, but it will take a good long while before it's ready even for a private alpha, much less a public beta. Until the time that development has started and made actual progress, these NS:S threads will all meet the same fate in being...
