Sticking To The Ceiling No Matter What?

I remember somebody saying that as a skulk you could stick to the ceiling even if your moving on uneven ceiling by holding a key down. It's it just the jump key because that works along flat celing but still fall off on uneven stuff...

    You can try the moveup button, should be somewhere in the key configuration.

    is that the same as the "swim up" one?
  • WolvWolv Join Date: 2002-01-25 Member: 56Members
    Yeah, that one. It should make you move up walls and ladders and may help sticking to the ceiling. Swim down can be used for the opposite, though I find crouching easier to use if I quickly want to decent.

    It also allows a little bit of freedom to stay on a ceiling while looking and moving around.. it's really quite cool...

    I would just like to say, I am getting tired of holding down keys to do things... crouch, walk, stick to ceilings. Toggleable keys would be nice.

    I am sure someone will come along and mention scripts, note I play on mp_bs servers...

    maybe you should stop

    A lot of people incorporate +moveup in their 3 jump scripts due in part to the fact that it makes you jump slightly higher. This also has the added affect of being able to use it to go up walls and cling to ceilings by holding the jump button down. Something on the order of:<!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->alias +bhop "+moveup; wait; +jump;wait;-jump;wait;+jump;wait;-jump;wait;+jump"
    alias -bhop "-jump; -moveup"<!--c2--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    Furthermore you can edit your config to use toggles for most +commands. For example, to toggle ducking you can do something like the following which will alternate back and forth:<!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->alias duckon "+duck; bind ctrl duckoff"
    alias duckoff "-duck; bind ctrl duckon"<!--c2--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    Note it only makes you jump higher with the right view-angle and while not holding crouch. And yeah, stop playing on mp_bs 1 servers nubfaec <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Blah, I am annoyed by wigglewalking and pistol scripts. Frankly thats for another thread, <span style='color:orange'>*snip* and thank you for realizing that fact so soon. The rest of this post has been removed because it had no relation to the original topic, and would only change this into Yet Another scripting discussion.</span>

    Cheers for bringing this up, it's helped me today to be able to actually walk properly on the cieling without having to look towards it constantly. Obviously still enough give that if you actively move away from the cieling you fall off...but hey, gravity is a wonderful thing.

    Now I just need to devise a way of being able to leap and "glance" off of those corners without sticking to them <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
