Lags And High Pings Sequenziel

First before i start. Sorry for bad englisch; only school knowledge.

After a new Windows installation i have troubles with ns. When I am playing pings are between 60 an 500

I used net graph and du meter to check how much bandwith is used. ns uses 3k up and 3 k down. Its relatively constant. WIndows uses 0.0 for other jobs. Checked it before i start ns. High pings appear if i see many players parallel.
If now someone things my computer does not get it. I have an 3200 Athlon 64 with a radeon 9800XT
opengl 1024 768
I think thats not the problem. Must i change some confgis or something ike that. All drivers for hardware are updated to latest release.

Please help me

    Make sure your connection type is set under steam>options>internet.

    Failing that post your connection type on here and we can go from thier.

    Nice PC setup btw wish i had the money for a 64bit processor.

    It probably isn't any of his settings. NS was working fine for me (including 3.01), and suddenly (starting yesterday) I am having problems with random times of high lag. The strangest part is that it often starts in the middle of a round, for no apparent reason.

    This could be anything from a problem in the settings, in the server, or even down to contention on your access line.

    Check Steam settings, make sure they are set correctly.
    Try another server, if the problem is down to the server, then it will not happen on a different one.
    Try another game, something that doesn't use the HL/Steam protocols. Something like Unreal 2004, or anything Unreal powered, as it will use the Unreal protocol. If it still happens, then it might be line contention, or even your service provider messing around at a service hub. This happens all the time in the UK.

    first off all thx for help.
    i've already changed steam options. It does not help. Other games Like **** deathmatch (also steam) or call of duty or ut 2004 work perefect. Its like im lost has posted. it appears in the middle of a game. Probably it is a bug. But other users do not have such problems than i have.

    I've changed my network adapter. before a marvell chip was working now its 3com. and i have the same problems.

    Asking for help again/further.

    If it only happens on scenes with a lot of player invloved, and not during quiet sections, then it might be a choke problem.

    Don't know if this will help, but try lowering your screen resolution to 800x600.
