Sound Problems

Every time I try to log onto a server, all the sounds start going wacked. Some sort of odd tin-like noise (Hard to describe it). I've had this problem off and on throughout all the versions of NS. If I try running a custom game (hosting) I don't have any noise problems, and none of my other games have had any probelms

I have tried updating my drivers, changing both in-game sound settings and system settings, speakers, and nothing seems to work >_<

Any Ideas?

My sound card I think is a Nvidia nForce Audio, running the Audio 4.31 drivers.

Try using the room_type 1 command. I think that's what it is. Can't remember for sure. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know if that'll fix yoru problems or not though, just an idea.

In the sound options screen, deselect the A3D and EAX options.

I had this problem when i was using A3d and people spoke over microphones all i heard was a tinny fuzzy noise. I turned A3d off, and Viola!

Each time I turned those 2 off, I didnt reset steam :/

I'm having problems with my sub woofer it works for all my game except NS my surround sound works fine but as soon as NS starts up my sub turns off I hear a low rumble then it just turns off.

Any ideas on what I can do to fix it? soundcard: Genius no idea which 1 has latest drivers though. Speakers: AOpen surround sound 5.1 also no idea which 1.
