anybody know whats up? the scanner on the obs also shakes weirdly and is fuzzy.

When Truform is on, it seems to cause missing polygons on the Hive. It's done this with every Catalyst driver I've used.

The observatory dish will appear to "move around" as each segment is clipping the others. I can't show this with a screenshot.

Ok. I will be sure to look into this further. I have an ATI card and have third party drivers. So i can test a few ways to see if this pops up on them. I did in fact notice it myself during a recent playtest. Upon further checking it seems for some reason i have true form set to "Application preference" which as we all know for some reason stands for "on" Heading to the gym right now and i intend to sit down to iron out a few things once i get back.

Yeah i have this exact same problem. It was funny because i bought the card off my mate who didnt have the problem, we cleared my nvidia drivers then installed teh radeon 9600 and i had missin parts of my hive!! I too have a shaky obs model that i didn't realise wasn't how it's supposed to be until my mate commented on it.

soul rider please check your true form settings. Also, aer you using default ati drivers or modified third party ones. Alot of people have this problem, telling us that you are experiencing it too does not help us track down the cause.

OK well i had a go at this and i am glad to say your help was appreciated. this is what I personally found.

- changing TRUFORM in any guise made no difference what so ever.

- By setting ati_npatch to 0 fixed the problem. as a note i changed it back to 1 after and the problem did not reappear. obviously just a kick start.

The two settings that I was palying with were :

ati_npatch (0/1) def: 1
ati_subdiv (0/1/2/3) def: 2

I am curerwently playing with defaults again and no problems <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' />

looks like HL:NS just needed a kick up the bottom to get it working <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' />

I had this problem by turning on trueform. I am using the latest catalyst drivers. By turning off trueform, this problem was fixed.
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro (256 MB)

Im gonna spend some time trying to recreate this one soulrider, as I also have the 9600 with ati driver. See if my trueform will act the same way.

Funny becouse I run my NS at lowest quality settings, with no anti-aliasing, shadowing etc just to keep that fps at a constant 100, so I raely get to encounter some of these video card issues. But I think it deserves a few hours of my time to experiment.

Hah. 13 minutes.

I set trueform to the most on setting (Application prefrence) and ran NS, tried CO and NS maps, 5 in all, could not see the bug in regular, cloaked, or flashlight vision mode....
