Did it happen ?
As the title says, did the sensory challenge happen, what were the results ?
thread got too flamey. I doubt it ever did happen.
If we really want to set up some clan vs pubber matches (which I think would be cool in its own rights) there are much more interesting conditions I can think of then that the clan team has to go sensory first.
The counter for sense first is a two hive lockdown. Any clan that lets pubbers lock down two hives with SCs in them deserves to be disbaneded.

Even with 2-hive lock down it's hard because you simply don't have enough res to do it quickly. In order to achieve a 2 hive lockdown before Fades show up, you might be force to play upgradeless for a few minutes...MAYBE be able to get armor1. In a 6v6 you simply don't have the man power to to do more than lock down one at a time, and even with marines moving at top speed, I'm not sure if marines can do it before 4 minutes. I mean, you need 1 guy to build base, have 3 guys go rush a hive, and one guy cap nodes, and the base builder goes to cap after building base perhaps. Phase tech needs ot be researched...immediately, so that means slow a1. The moment the aliens see marines locking down one hive, they'll probsbly swarm the other, knowing the marines are going for a two-hive lockdown. It'll be hard.

HA? That'll come what...7, 8 minutes into the game? 2 hives are up already. GG stomp. And that's IF you manage to keep a lot of RTs. It's expensive to suit up HAs, and with sensory first it's hard to expand in the first place. Oh and btw if you're going HA, don't be dumb and go w0/a3. You won't have enough firepower to repel those Oni and Fades. w0/a1 heavies are almost as good as w0/a3 heavies, but w2/a1 heavies perform way better than w0/a3 heavies.

Yes yes you can have a2 and armory upgraded by 5 minutes...and THEN you have to build the proto...and THEN research HA (which takes what...2 minutes?) and then drop the for everyone. Like I said...7-8 minutes for HA realistically.
Right then. What we're gonna do is pit this group of non-competitive newbs against our clan. This will ensure that we have the upper hand because they won't be used to competitive gameplay AND they won't have played together.
Then, we'll use a particular strategy that we've practiced against them. Just to be 'nice' we'll tell them that the strategy is "sensory first".
After we stick our thumbs up their buttholes, we'll pat ourselves on the back and claim to have made a point.
I don't get the problem with SC. Its the least worrying chamber so far (at least with current obs prices) - even a good team with DCs is more annoying.
I've played in high level non NS clans before, if I had a team of Me (or 5 other NS Pubbers who understood how to approach a clan match, but who werent actually clanned in NS) then I'd take the challenge.
My point is that the sort of 'NS pubbers' who would actually take up a challenge like this would be those who actually thought they stood a chance, and they come in two flavours:
- The aforementioned - Nubs who've never played a clanmatch in their life but think they're Flayra's gift to NS.
Wouldn't a pub alien team using sensory first beating a marine team full of clanners do more to prove the point that sensories are overpowered?
Of course, the pubbers could just choose to be idiots and purposefully lose the game, thereby winning the challenge, but some hltv demos will ensure that they aren't sabotaging themselves.
waht about relocating? locking down 2 hives is alot easier with relocate to a hive cause you only have to defend 2 positions instead of 3. you'll lose the res needed to build a comm chair, but i think it's worth it. it's pretty much do or die in the first few minutes, and even if you fail to lock down 2 hives, at least you make sure the aliens don't get a third until they wipe you out.

It was more to make some people (they know who they are) who don't consider the sensory a "real threat" or "unbalanced chamber" to shut up once for all. There was some discussions about the Sensory chamber and strategy.
Short version : 3 Sensory displayed on the map and you have a real advantage if well played. High skill team will of course use this "upper hand".
I can understand why the knife guy (sorry buddy i don't remember who it was) was upset to the point of making this.
Played or not, he made his point : they shut up.

I still don´t really see the point. A competative team beats a random team. No, really? It might have proven something if it was the other way around. But I´m still in, just for the fun of it.

So.... any takers?!
