<div class="IPBDescription">especially viewing server info</div> Hi,

NS started crashing itself. I don't know, I just start my comp, start steam, start NS and want to play. I always view the info first, so I can see whether the round has begun or not. But sometimes, it crashes my whole comp. I didn't do something special, but it does this sometime.
Sorry I can give no further info, but I have no idea why this could happen. Everything worked fine yesterday.

Could we have a tad more info please.

    >System Specs
    >Windows Version
    >When this started occuring (After a steam update, windows update, gfx driver update etc)
    >What you have tried to fix the problem (If any)
    >Does this happen with any other mod?

Without much info all i can suggest is to make sure you have all the windows updates.

Upto date motherboard drivers/graphic drivers/sound drivers/perhipral drivers etc.

Also try uninstalling NS and reinstalling, same goes for steam.

Sorry i cant be more help, perhaps the next person will be.

Well, I never update my windows, nevar. I have windows xp SP1.
I don't know when steam was updated the last time, but like mentioned in my post above, it started yesterday.
    athlon 2000+ xp
    sapp atlantis radeon 9800 pro
    1280mb ram
    soundblaster pci128

But this infos are of no use, because it started doing this out of the blue. This is ridiculous.

it is an odd problem, especially since it just happened out of nowhere. I think there is some benifit to updating windows, though it took me about 6 months to do it myself, thats probably not the problem. I'd check for adware or spyware running in the background, and do a virus scan just to be sure, plus does any of the other HL or steam based games do the same thing? Cause if they do it could be a steam problem.

That has happened to me too, just all of a sudden it locks up and you hear a sound repeating itself until it resets the computer.

Does it ever so often, not that big of a thing but I've since updated my soundcard drivers, I have a feeling it won't be resetting anytime soon <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
