Congradulations. I've been playing NS since 3:00 PM (it's 6:00 PM now), and will resume at 10:00 PM until 8:00 AM or whenever...

Hurrzay for extending NS playing hours beyond normalitiesQ!

13 freaking hours? Geez. The most time I could possibly spend in front of a computer is about 8, maximum, and even all of that wouldn't be spent on NS. If it were, I'd need more than just glasses.

*Holds a magnifying glass before his eyes*

Edit: I don't know simple artihmetic, or even how to spell it.

    13 hours

    10 am to 11 pm = 13 hours

EDIT: I jsut realised you said 13 hours, see my brain is like jelly now, never play NS for that long.

EDIT AFTER EDIT: Just realised, you did say 11 hours, then edited you post and made it 13 hours, lol

    Shush up.

You're just lucky this isn't yet another topic about NS' diminishing quality, as I immediately assumed once I saw the title.

Edit: No, your brain isn't slurpee yet; it did originally say 11, but I changed it to 13 as you were correcting me. <i>I'm</i> the one with goop running out of my ears.

I actually remember this, because I posted this in like, a reminiscing thread about a month ago.

I was either 14 or 15.. and 1.03 was out.
I had a reserved slot on the server, or something, cause I wasnt ever really kicked out. It was a friday night (and not having a girlfriend at the time) the game had already started around 3 PM, and I joined in about 4. I played it until 9 AM the next morning. I went directly to bed and did not pass go.

on ns 1.04 there have been a couple of matches on ns_nothing that have lasted a day or two, and in one case 1 week.

but we all didnt stay online for a week in that one event, played in shifts of like 12 hours.

i personally have not played ns for more than 5 hours at a time, but there have been a few cases of me working on a duke3d map all night.

I used to play up to 16+ hours at a time on weekends. But that was a long time back when I actually found public games rather enjoyable.

I played for about 4 hours straight on a single 1.04 ns_nothing game that GiGaBiTe was talking about. I would have played for longer, but the server crashed. That being said, I wish I could do that more often, but the presence of a girlfriend and the absence of a broadband connection deters me heavily.

I think the longest I've played is 13-14 hours too...but I had to give up because my computer couldn't take it. Maps started going all freaky and breaking up graphically, and sound became crackly. I decided then that it was time to shut down and go to bed.

I loooooovvvvvveeeeeeeee NS i can't get enough of ns tbh when i come home from work at 6.30pm GMT it is ns all the way untill 3am GMT the next morning and then get up for work at 6am GMT and thats what i do everyday apart from the weekend.

I get on NS Sat at about 3pm GMT and get off it 3pm GMT Sun and go sleep for my night shift which starts at 8pm.

I suffer with sleep deprevation so i don't need much sleep at all. Which is how i can do this <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    So basically in short NS keeps me going <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

And about the suggestion aboput dev's giving me $20 US dollars back don't be silly i will give them another £20 GBP and that converts to something like $44 US Dollars for creating a game that actually has kept me interested in it since i started playing it which was 1.04

I may actually re-donate right now actually!

    [Edit]
    There another donation done!

Oh wow. I thought you guys were talking about in one game.
Well, the longest I've played is probably about a half a year ago, when my friends went to the beach and I was grounded for blowing up marshmellows via the microwave.

I played from that Friday night at around 10 to Sunday morning around 6. There were breaks for eating and peeing.. but a lot of caffeine was involved.

EDIT: By the way, someone said something about long games on nothing.
THATS why nothing was my was/is one of my favorite maps, because of those memories.. that and it hasn't been changed as much as something like.. say, eclipse.

the week long match was indeed not an exaduration. but there were a few cases of server crashes, so everyone agreed what was where, built it and kept going.

The longest single gaem Ive ever played was 1.0x (cant remember exactly) and it was on tanith and it last about 4 and a half hours. Marines had MS and Double locked down to ****, and kept attacking our hives, but we had the res of the map and kept putting them back up, I remember aliens winning.

1.0, Halloween. 30-35 hours solid with quick breaks to grab food or hit the bathroom. This was when everyone was just screwing around, learning the game.. before 1.0's turret spam of death became an issue (killing the TF wouldn't make them stop firing), or serverops found out how to change resflow to give Marines a HUGE advantage, with 10x the resflow of the Kharaa.

    Lets see...

It was when NS 2.0 came out, played that from morning till' afternoon with minor beverage breaks and bathroom breaks inbetween, so I would guess that it was around, oh... 14+ hours? 9:00 till past midnight, or some such.
