A photo thread, for everyone
This is an idea I just had and decided to see if it could reap fruitful results.
Everyone knows about the various 'miraculous' appearances of Christian symbols and the attention they recieve by the media and people who would be affected by it. Whether or not these are true miracles or not I am not going to debate, as frankly and honestly I don't much care (I'm a tough one to please).
But here is my task to you.
Be vigilant! Keep an eye out for patterns in our world which could be considered symbolic of Christian dogma. Jesus and the Virgin Mary are the only two distinct ones that come to my mind, but anything you deem relevent, even Satanic findings, are also welcome. Basically, anything you think might be relevent to the subject.
If you do happen to see anything, photograph it! Digital camera, mobile (cell) camera, whatever, so long as you are able to get a picture which can then be posted in this thread.
The aim is to see just how common, or infrequent, such occurances are, and in doing so perhaps come to a conclusion about just how likely someone is to find such a symbol in their life.
Remember, I am interested specifically in 'God in Chaos'; chaotic/natural patterns such as wood grains, stains, dirt residue, litter whatever. Wherever you may find pictures from chaos. Finding possible places should be a doddle - chaos is EVERYWHERE. Patterns, pictures, are everywhere.
For the sake of keeping the thread flowing, I'm also willing to see pictures from games (textures?), movies (smoke? frame composition?), wherever, but I am especially interested in finding these symbols in chaos, and it is only those that I would consider relevent to the scientific nature of this quest. Anything else, (with of course the possible exception) would be interesting but unqualatitive, unless there is substantial evidence to include it amongst the sincere findings.
Unfortunately I have no photographic means myself, and since I just came up with the idea, no image to start this off. But I shall have my eyes open, and I hope you will too

This could take a while before anything actually happens, so to start it off let's have some feedback on whether you think this is a good/pointless idea please.

I'm guessing that we can't post pictures of churches? I know of about four near here. ;P
Do you think putting together a composition of previous religious symbolic findings, as well as typical images of what they are meant to be representations of, would be useful? I imagine we all have a vague idea of Jesus's face as well as Mary's figure, though some clarification would be useful I suppose...
I'm not doing it right now as I'm using my PC on a TV and doing anything other than web browsing/gaming is extremely tedious. If only I had access to a camera.
Are suggesting that DOOManiac is chaotic?
I was just trying to find part of a HL rock texture which was a PlanetHalfLife screen of the day once, showing off what looked like a face of Jesus composed of shadows/rock, and to my surprise I found a picture of what to me looks like someone praying.
See if you can spot it, here is the texture: (This is '-1out_rk4' FTW)

See anything?
Clue: Look in the middle especially, and it takes up most of the frame.
Think you see it? Well, here is what I saw:

Note the bucket by her knees, and also that it can be seen as her with her head raised or bowed into her hands. I know this can be seen as pretty far fetched, but then so are some of these pattern-miracles that we see on the news.
The image is quite small (its bigger to me cos as I said I'm using a TV), so I've enlarged it and sharpened it in case anyone requires it.

Now I am no claiming that this is the work of God. I am not claiming it was put there intentionally, either, or that it is actually a picture of anything - but stretch your imagination just a bit and it's there. It's even more vivid if you really believe it's there, and the entire texture to me seems to transform into a scene (admittedly one that's not easy to imagine out what is going on, because there is no actual scene there).
<edit>
This is the kind of thing I am looking for, but specifically things that could be attributed to the 'work of God'. Perhaps I am trying to scientifically justify a feeling that these miracals such as the salt stain, burnt toast/fish, etc, are just lewdly blown out of proportion (Truth is I don't mind people being affected by that stuff - what I find bizarre is the media attention it aquires), or perhaps I am on a quest to see if there is a distinct lack of said symbols where there should be...I don't know, but I find such endeavours interesting none-the-less.
Perhaps it was spawned by those old childrens books where many of the trees in pictures would have faces hidden in them - I still find myself seeing faces all over the place when in a certain mood.
Now you mention it, I can see that too And the bucket is now his knee/boot, yes?
Like I said, there is no actual picture there. Whatever you bring with you, you take from it so long as the essentials are there. I was looking for Christian-related images, and that's what I got (sort of).
I sense this thread is likely to waver from the original concept somewhat, so I guess I am prepared to allow some leeway here. For encouragement though, consider that if you DO find a picture of Christ, Mary, other powerful Christian imagry, even Satan at a stretch, then it's possible you could be rewarded greatly for its discovery by some casino or rich man with an imagintion. I am still interested in what might be found.
Actually, the first thing I saw was a screaming guy. He's on the right side, where the rock is noticeable lighter. He has his head back, eyes closed, and mouth open. If his eyes were open, he'd bee looking toward the upper left-hand corner.
I think this is a classic example of our brains ability to find patterns where there aren't any and see pictures in rubbish. The same thing happens to those who listen out for messages from the dead in the white noise you get from a detuned radio (karma police ).
This is why I can't believe in a spirit world, our eyes and brains are designed to find human figures out of nothing so of course we will see people. Frogs would see flies, it doesn't mean there are supernatural flies buzzing about
I slipped a huuuuge skull into a landscape map for a team project I was doing to kinda help people go "Bad people live there!" without knowing why :3
Roofles. I remember doin that back in the good ol playtesting days. :D
hehe.

ha! i see a screaming guy too on bottem right with the dark spots his eyes open.
but I thought the whole left half of the image was his fingers and palm of hand up in bigger perspective (like hes sticking his hand in your face)
So its some guy like "yo talk tot he hand!"
