Netbux

is this a scam?
One of my friends just mentionned this site Netbux to me. Apparently it pays 2 cents per search (works with Google and pretty much any other search engine). You also get 100% profit from your referrals. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I was just wondering if any of you know about the site and if they really pay up in the end? I just signed up 2 minutes ago and the site seems a bit slow.
(Not sure if there was a topic about this before, the search doesn't work for me)

The more I think about it, the more legit it sounds (interestingly enough).
Umm, he was asking if the site was legit... Not advertising.
If I have somehow broken the forum rules, mods know what to do

You get money by searching for things on the internet ::- Well, i dont have an IQ >= 2gatrillion but when something is too good to be true it usually is.
You get profit from refering people ::- Not unlike a pryamid scheme there eh, and what have me learn't. Pryamid scheme's are bad.
Anyone who join's netbux or any other pryamid scheme is a total moron
The real money making scheme in it is the referal system. Which most of the time is time-consuming, hard and you get alot of ppl annoyed.
i have his permission to use it.

You can get money (either by reduced bill or actual money) or goods by referring people to certain ISPs or telephone networks.
Guess you shouldn't use any of those services either.
Why?
Why would someone pay *you* money to search the internet? In this day and age, people do not do that, only unless it's benifiting the guy who started it in someway.
Lets see... over 30,000members*(Minimum of >2cents)*(However many websites there is "x") = A non exsitant amount of money.
You can post referal links in your sig, but i doubt people will click it. And if you truly beleive the referal system is the way to make money, go crazy, you'll probably get banned from alot places and have lots of abuse thrown your way.
The money they drag in per view on the advertisements that advertisers pay them to make people view sites by said searching probably exceeds that, and then some, and then some more. Hell, just having people goto google or another search engine and viewing the sponsered links from their searches would net quite a profit for any organization that brought in the viewers, from google or those who place ads.
FTW?
That's pretty simple to do, just set up a chain topic where each poster refers to the previous one. I'm sure with our community we could get several dozen referrals towards the first person (in this case Flayra) which according to this would yield several hundred dollars a month.
Note they ask for your paypal e-mail. Due to how paypal handles it's e-mail, the paypal email is guaranteed to be a valid e-mail address, so they are generating a nice list that they could sell to spammers somewhere.
Also, the domain was registered April 01/05, so it's still less then a month old, so they haven't had to pay anyone yet. And I would never register for something like this without previous people getting paid out. Even then, I probably wouldn't. The money they get from selling a list of guaranteed e-mail address to spammers would probably cover the small change they pay out for every search.
Diazo
*disclamer* I certainly don't have any proof of this. the site may actually be legit, but this has too much of "get something for nothing" in it for me to think that there isn't something happening behind the scenes.
These can probably be forged pretty easily, but somehow I doubt they were.
It eats up bandwidth and is annoying as all crap when people start posting their referrals everywhere... as far as I am concerned, it's no better than Kings of Chaos, or any of those other referral games.
