The parties have resolved their differences, and the settlement provides for the dismissal of all claims and counterclaims. Under the settlement agreement, VU Games will cease distribution of retail packaged versions of Valve's games, including Half-Life®, Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike™, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero and Counter-Strike: Source, effective August 31, 2005.
Additionally, VU Games has notified distributors and cyber cafes that were licensed by VU Games that only Valve is authorized to distribute Valve games to cyber cafés and grant cyber café licenses. Cyber café operators that were licensed by VU Games have also been notified that any license agreement from Sierra Entertainment, Vivendi Universal Games or any of their affiliates or distributors that may have granted rights to use Valve games in cyber cafés, whether written or oral, is terminated.

Yes, I know some people love their retail copies and love their box and I'm sure Valve will find a new publisher, or some form of boxed unit, but I love to see the whole dependancy on publisher get a smack in the face here.

If that were true it would be so damn cool if someone bought one still in the wrapper. I've only used my CD once, near mint condition.
i am actually considering something like this.
Not in that scale although, but a newly wrapped version would be nice ^^

/does the dance from Michael Jackson's Thriller and screame woo! in a high pitched voice.
This makes me so happy, that I could cry.
The disparity between this comment and the rest of the posts is mind-boggling.
Another nail. In the most successful PC game of 2004's coffin.
You know, this "Xyz is dying!" craze starts to be just a bit ridiculous...
If this kind of stuff keeps happening I might start to feel disappointed that the world is going to end in 7 years.
