I recommend GoDaddy.com

I'm currently hooked up with www.webhostingbuzz.com . To be honest, you have to put up with some retarded techs once in a while, but for $84/year I get 2gb storage, 50gb monthly transfer, and as many domains as I want to host.

http://www.solidinternet.com - Great tech support, good pricing, you just don't get a domain name, which you can easily register on http://www.godaddy.com (or a registrar of your choice).

I use 34sp and I can't fault them at all.

I use FuitadNet. $5/month for 3 GB of space and 25 GB of bandwidth. Great service, too, and I've never had a problem with them.

I just want to chime in one little additional detail about webhostingbuzz.com that I'm using. I do admit that sometimes you get some frustration out of them. But the sheer fact that I can host an unlimited number of full qualified domains on that one plan is what makes it really awesome.

With that current $84/year plan, I'm already hosting around 8 sites, and it doesn't cost me a dime more than hosting just 1.

Many people are fans of DreamHost, but mostly because of their friendly WordPress support. Media Temple is my current host, and while they are very expensive, they have great support, great uptime, and nice features. I've had only one notable instance of a non-responsive site: I'm not really even certain if it was down or not, but it was up within the I noticed it was having troubles.

Of the two, I'd go with Media Temple, based on the quality of the website alone: DreamHost has too much of a template feel to it, which makes me worried about their dependability.

Well, I've always found it to be reliable, dependable, and a LITTLE slow

It takes a bit of time to load, but will hold most ANY file, and if it doesn't, you can request it

Also- if it doesn't load the first time, try at least 3 more times... it's a lil weird like that. I think it's cause they're mid transition to a new box 0o

I've been at Dreamhost for a few weeks and the service is very good. They have a bunch of "one-click" installs that enable you to set up popular services such as Wordpress, Wikis and phpBB extremely quickly. There's an amazing plan to get the "Crazy Insane Domain" for 10 bucks a year if you type the code "777" before you pay. I highly recommend them!

Lies. Everyone knows CrackerJackMack is the r0x00r.

Eventually, I too, will be a webhost, when me, Cracker, and another friend (AllMightySpiff) buy a server to make money off of. Should be in a few months.

Well I'd recommend www.phucknut.net - it's not a large hosting company like some of the other suggestions, but I prefer that - you'll get to know the guy who runs it (Jan, alias CHS), and if you ever have a problem you can get in touch with him personally very quickly. I've been getting hosting from them for about 3 years now, and on the rare occassion that there's a problem, he's usually working on fixing it before I even realise!

The other advantage is that you can probably barter the fine details of your account to more after you've been with him for a little while...

get in touch and tell him I sent you - might help get you more for your money :-)

I hear they actually are pretty solid. My only problem is that I am semi-boycotting them due to their inane commercials.
