i was thinking, the player vote/map vote as it is now, is not good. You need a certain amount of players to vote, and most of the time, people are not interested in voting. They dont do it, even if it is obvious that the vote is the right decision. Therefore, maybe NS could have a adminmod type of voting (yes, in the FAQ sais adminmod, but does this mean its this way) of releasing a vote, then everyone has 10 seconds to vote, yes or no, and if they dont vote, their vote is not counted. This will be much easier to kick players, because it is about percentage of players VOTING instead of PLAYING.

I'm pretty sure it's already like that, the team has thought a lot 'bout ways to prevent lamers.BTW those votes are not allways a good thing, try playing on a uk2.net cs server and count the number of votes against you, when you have a 3:1 ratio :/

I still am thinking sturdy and understanding admins are the best way to take care of lamers, in any point i would also like to see a vote system that actually works well in the game, but i stick by the fact that if we have admins on servers at all times, or most of the times, that will be the best thing for everyone.

Thing is you find alot of admins who like to abuse there power and bully players into using the weapons of 'THEIR' choice or you will be banned or kicked..

In the NS voting system, those who do not vote are simply not figured into the equation, or count as Yes votes. I can't remember which. I think it's the 'not counted one' though. So if three people vote, two of them yes, one of them no, and eight others don't vote, the result is a yes. I think.

Can't NS just use adminmod or metamod or something? OH DEAR LORD. I've seen admins who get their hands on AdminMod in SvenCoop. Maybe it's different for other games and NS as well, but they had all these new "things" to play with, so they basically turned their servers into "AdminMod" testing grounds. They just go around slaying players, spawning masses of enemies on players, teleporting/stacking players, and if anyone disagrees, that person is kicked, of course.

Just make sure the admins you get are going to be responsible and mature with their privileges.

Well adminmod and things are there to download to if some random server op wants to use it no one can say otherwise to them. But anyway I am not refering to them I am just talking about NS working with adminmod or metamod. And before a player is given admin privelages they just get watched closely etc...If they abuse them then they are gone. Not a very difficult thing to do given you have a level headed server op.

The problem with AdminMod is that it sucks, as far as the voting kick options. Getting enough people to actually vote is like pulling teeth. With NS's system, half the people on the server not voting won't matter. Another problem with AdminMod is that you're asking all the people on the server to kick someone who's only messing up one team. That means the other team probably won't vote them off.

But yes, AdminMod can be used. But using it for kicking people will be pretty pointless. NS will have a much better system.

Well adminmod and metamod are good for adding plugins for which means useful plugins could be made for NS through Metamod or adminmod. Vote kick wasn't really a worry of mine.

for CS theres a downloadable "adming chicken" it adds a command that lets you turn a player into a chicken.

I personally would like to see a 'kick to ban' feature as well, where if you're kicked by vote a couple times in an hour, you get auto-banned for 15 minutes. Most lamers would get bored and move on to some other server rather than waiting to come back...

yah, maybe if youve been banned for 15 and u get kicked again yer banned for 20, then 25, until yer banned FOREVER or something <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

I think if there are enough people voting a player off, i say ban for 24 hours. This will be a real pain in the ### for someone wanting to play but is lamer, and if its incorrect then there is no problem, you go to another server and play there; next day you can play wherever you want.
If this goes in, could there be a 'multi-banlist' in? i play cs at the demon.nl servers, and when someone is banned, he just plays on demon.nl 3 instead of demon.4... maybe similair servers could have one 'banlist', and if someone is banned on one of these servers he is banned from all the servers. Maybe you could let other servers hike into it, say i have a clanserver i can join this banlist, and people banned on demon.nl will also be banned from my server, but i cannot edit this banlist ie. when i ban someone, the people at demon.nl do not notice...

i dont like it much , but with some of ######## , it would be great.so i dont say yes or no cos it can be good and bad aswell.

the whole server would have to be full of "#######s" for the guy to get kicked.
