Help
I need help with my dual display system thing. I had an adapter bout a week ago that would only show yellow on the second display. Now that i have a brand new adapter, the second display will NOT turn on. The light blinks and thats about it. I've tried everything my buddy knows and that's about it. The other adapter i had a week ago doesn't even work. Re-installed the original drivers, and it still doesn't work.

I'm not really familliar with the nVidia software, but I know that windows always identifies the second port on a graphics card as a "Secondary" graphics adapter, check to see that is in your system prefrences. Also make sure you have dual display supporting drivers for your card, windows should be able to do it on its own, but at least ATi reccomends Hyrdavision.

Create a second screen in your xorg.conf and enable Xinerama and... Oh wait...

Gotta recommend Tvtool cause that program helped me out getting dual display to work. It has tons of hidden options and tweaks. the 9.7 should be the one for ya. Good luck

http://tvtool.info/index_e.htm *works only with nvidia cards.

Come to think of it now, i also upgraded the bios on my gfx card as well. Took a while before i dared it, was vital to find the right one.

Found it on this site

Good luck again, if you decide to dare and do it

I have an ATI 9800 PRO, am I able to set up my TV as a second monitor? It only has an antenna plug-in in the back, and a yellow thing and a white thing.

Mad Man: Technics 1200s (or 1210s? i can never remember which is which)
[PPD01 mixer if your interested]

and theyre covered up because
a, im a messy guy
b, theres no space left on my desk now.

but dont fret, they get a daily spin

Neko: yeah you should be able to quite easily, mines 9800XT but i cant imagine pro would be too different.
on mine at the back, theres a normal output, some DV [sic?] or somthing output which needs a little adapter to fit into my second monitor, and in between is the 'video out' thing that would go direct into a TVs yellow port.
I bet you at least will have the video out bit, and then your monitor can be either a copy of your desktop, or an extention
[you may have problems playing videos on it though, I did at first, although its randomly fixed itself now, apparently without me changing anything]

Tthe light usually flashes if the monitor cannot take the resolution, colour quality or refresh rate. Try putting it on the lowest res and refresh rate etc and see if it works.

If you want to use different wallpapers for each monitor, use ULTRAMON. \o/
