The biggest fish, however, still remained in the pond: Square Enix. They've finally caught the one that got away, announcing that Fianl Fantasy XI will be available for Xbox 360. A press release that went out during the event summed up the feelings of both sides perfectly. "We're honored that Square Enix will make games like Final Fantasy XI for the millions of Xbox fans who have anticipated this historical moment for quite some time," said Robbie Bach, senior vice president and chief Xbox officer in the Home and Entertainment Division at Microsoft. "Together, we will chart a new course for the future of video game entertainment."
"Xbox has become a major force in video-game innovation, and we couldn't be more captivated by the Xbox 360 canvas," said Yoichi Wada, president of Square Enix. "As the world's first cross-platform online game with more than 500,000 users, Final Fantasy XI will take advantage of the incredible power of the Xbox 360 platform, immersing gamers in spellbinding stories that come to life in high definition and through collaborative online gameplay."

Plus, FFXI is an old release and one of the worse FF games.
EDIT: Also, the Xbox360 is being launched in Japan at about the same time as Final Fantasy XII, Dragon Quest VIII, Kingdom Hearts 2 and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. How well do you think Microsoft is going to do?

FFXI is a not 'One of the Worse' FF games. Its merely up to taste. For example: I love it. Petco loves it. So do the hundreds upon thousands that play it.
I hate it when people assume that everyone hates a game just because they/their friends do.
No, I haven't played it. But I have never heard anything great about the game. I have heard some awful things about the game.

Great Things:
Story
Battle System
Class System(Just in need of balancing. Sound like any other recent MMOs?)
As to the soloing thing, I don't see why you would want to. I don't pay $15 a month to solo
The only weak part was the repeated fighting. But if you wanna get that, lets talk about EQ, EQ2, Ragnarok, L1&2, CoH, and every other MMO except WoW(which begins to feel like a grind after a long while).
People just didn't like that it went for something so out of the park, is all.
Touche.

Who is that in your avatar Quanaut?
My personal sexaterium is bigger than your personal sexateruim.
And I have a fancy rug.
Do YOU have a fancy rug?
Final Fantasy 11 shouldnt be called Final Fantasy.
But im thinking of buying the game, only 15 US dollar. Expansion included.
A friend of mine played FF11 around 2 months and he got bored because he had hard to find a good party :/
EDIT:
I want to ride a Chocobo so badly! >_<
And I'm SICK of people trying to discredit others' opinions because "Oh look there are a lot of people playing this game, you are completely wrong for not liking it!"
That's BS, it varies completely from individual to individual, and his friends may very well dislike the game.
What is it with this forum and that?
"Blah blah blah software is better than blah blah blah software."
"Blah blah blah architechture is better than blah blah blah architecture."
"Blah blah blah game is better than blah blah blah game."
I admit I've done it too, pulse probably remembers that whole JK:Jedi Outcast argument. But seriously, you can't prove an opinion.

I believe it to be Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Mr Quanaut has been asked this question before, and I seem to remember him saying something about getting the pic in question from DOOManiac.
And yes, I also found it almost hypnotising the first time I saw it.
Yeah I know. Christ how I know. But I have to be original and spunky somehow. Otherwise I'm just another TommyVercetti.

No I mean his avatar not his sig. Who is that .gif woman smiling at the screen. And why must she entice me so. Seems commie is feeling the same effect.
Brother, I hear ya.

What my point is, people act like no one likes it, when a large group of people obviously do.
And as to my Avatar, her name is Rosa Kato.
Yes, my sig is Asuka Langley Soryu of Evangelion fame.
Never heard of that game

You know, I wasn't even stating an opinion on this topic. I was telling you people that just because a game is popular doesn't mean that everyone likes it and it's the best thing since God. Case in point: Counter-Strike.
Though, you may have helped me get a title: Just Another TommyVercetti.
