With all this Gamecube discussion, I'm just before buying one. But I dont' really keep up with most of the breaking console news, has anybody heard any rumors about a price drop anytime soon? I better do my research before I go out and buy one...
Can't say I have, though if you wait until after Christmas season a lot of things go on sale then, its a ways in the future, but it may save you some money. I highly recommend Smash Bros. Melee!
Well it's $150, that's already $50 cheaper than both other consoles, I don't see it's price dropping during the holiday season(they usually occure afterwords) .
Although the Japanese PS2 is dropping in price to the equavilent of ~$170USD, so maybe the american PS2 prices will drop to that price too. Then X-Box will be really screwed as I doubt MS can compete much more pricewise.
Rumor has it that Nintendo can indeed afford a price drop to $100 or so, so who knows. What I'd be hoping for would be a GameCube/Metroid Prime bundle for $150, that'll save you $50 right there, effectively making the GC $100 ;)
They have some really sweet deals posted on planetgamecube.com for packages with a GC and Metroid prime. But the wife is talking like she will let me buy one tonight, so I don't know if I can wait until I get drive an hour to get to one of those good stores and get the good deal. I might have to settle with getting it from Wal-Mart...
When you have to get it, you have to get it. But self-control is quality. Shop around for your best price if you have to nab it today and get that discount so you can buy more adhesive strips when you resume playing NS. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
If the game cube price drops any lower, theyd probably be losing money. Doesnt mean they wont though. The dreamcast had its price dropped to the point where they lost a dollar a console in a effort to save the system. It still died tho

Are $50 price drops in the works for GameCube, PS2 and Xbox? Gamers.com and EGM certainly seem to think so. I haven't heard anything remotely concrete, so I'm not saying anything either way...but I'm sure we'll know soon enough if it's in the cards. One thing we do know, is that there won't be a European PS2 price-cut before the holiday season. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> from <a href='http://www.shacknews.com' target='_blank'>ShackNews</a>.
