Doom 3 is my favourite. Maus really explained why I like it so much.
Half-Life 2 gives me no desire to play the single-player again all the way through, maybe the airboat chapter and use the supergun cheat. That's about it.
Halo 2? What? Why is that even here?
Personally I wouldn't choose HL2/D3 over each other. Although if we were talking about engine choice for modding I would choose HL2, but only because I understand it's much more moddable and versatile.
Half-Life 2 was simply a case of too little, too late. For all Valve's claims of being revolutionary, by the time we finally got it, it was more of the same stuff everyone else had been making.
Source physics sucked in multiplayer too - playing CS: Source at a LAN and someone would shoot a barrel, a couple seconds later on everyone else's screens a barrel just leaps into the air and goes flying, seemingly out of nowhere.
I wonder how all three will fair, now that HL2 and Doom 3 are making (or have made, in dooms case) their way to the x-box, and meet in common ground with Halo 2

Halo 2 for the win, say what you want about the graphics only being slightly upped from H1, I still think it's one of the most beautiful games I've ever played (not the most, but one of them). Halo has non-stop action, an over the top kick **** sci-fi story, and a cyborg with enough firepower to blow up an entire planet. I think I would take Halo 2 over the others if only given the opportunity to play one. <3 Halo 2.

halo 2 would have been the top one but the story cuts off in the middle so it sucks
doom 3 was just old school doom with better graphics not much inovation

 Same here
