i decided i wanted to learn to model the other day and decided i'd take a wack at making something(more complex than a box).
so heres what i have after about 2 hours of trying to figure out how lightwave works haha <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

i dont like the way the sights look, but i cant think of many other ways to draw em to look better...

the polycount is 1159(and i wasted like 200 polys <a href='http://www.olcottfamily.com/render2.jpg' target='_blank'>putting the holes in the trigger</a> ), which is kind of high for a model this low quality, but im sure thats just because i have never touched a modeling program until last friday and dont really know what im doing <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->.
@nogoodnickname
i made the holes by using the subtract tool, the way it works is the stock started out a s a box, and then on another layer i made another box in the shape i wanted the hole to be, and then used the subtract tool to "subtract" the contents of one box from the other.
good job solcott ^^
