NS just won't stop crashing
[B] I've had Natural-Selection for a few days now and it's an awesome mod. But I've had problems with the game. It seems to randomly restart my system while I'm playing. sometimes it does it when the sounds get crazy. I've got the most current drivers C-Media and it still restarts my system. I've tried disabling 3d sound and EAX and it still does it. I'm running a 1.4 ghz athlon with 256 mb of ddr ram and i'm using a geforce 3. I've got the latest drivers for that too. still restarts. I'm just wondering if this is a common problem cause i'm not really too sure whats wrong with it. any help would be good.

maybe try disabling your onboard cmedia sound chip and see if it had problems. Of course you will not have sound but it might help you determine if that's your problem. If so buy a real sound card

on-board sound is usually very crappy. At the most it's used to play general sounds that a computer would make (windows boot music, various beeps, and such--the things i usually turn off immediatly after getting a new comp/reformating.)

i had to upgrade to winXP just to get my SB audigy to work. My onboard sound wouldn't allow me to install drivers for my audigy in Win98SE. works fine now in winxp though so whatever.
