I have to go to an Austrian salt mine tomorrow as part of my tour. What can I hope to expect? I mean... salt mine? It doesn't sound very exciting...

    You get to "ooh" and "aah" at seemingly organic shapes, most likely. But they most definitely aren't organic, since anything organic is corroded away. I hear the water can be quite dangerous to get on ones skin.

    I found a salt mine I visited there quite interesting, actually. There was a really narrow entry, long tunnels, a train to ride into the mountain and fun (sometimes actually quite long) smooth wooden paths, which were used by miners to quickly get to their destination.
