Any one on these boards give blood? If so what's your blood type?

Nobody is getting a pint of my precious inner fluids!
I do it when I can. Come to think of it, my window is up and I can do it again. I should probably make an appointment some time this week.
Anyway, man the hell up and help save a life.
I think I could do it if they stuck the needle anywhere else. Wrist I could handle, shoulder would be a non-issue, but on the inside of the elbow just gives me the willies. I start getting super protective of my tendons and want to fold up my arms and run far far away. The thought of anything sharp getting anywhere near that part of my body just sends me running.
Find where to donate <a href='https://www.givelife.org/index_flash.cfm' target='_blank'>here.</a>
Every little bit helps, and a half hour out of your day every few months or so goes a long way.

QFT, although sometimes you have to be 18, it depends on your local blood bank.
Well I am 15, soo.... Yeah.
It's filled with pureified water at a 50/50 ratio with rubbing alcohol, and is kept at about 10 degrees F. It stays liquid, but when they spray it on it numbs the skin VERY well for a SHORT (ie, 10 seconds or so) while. THat's enough to get the needle in and get the job set so no pain!

About the percentage of people with certain blood types in the US only. It will vary a little bit, but O+ and A+ are the most common by far. Which is why they are in such high demand for that particular type.

Same here. I'm not a big fan of needles in general but under my elbow just really, really makes me not want to do it. In the shoulder would be fine, or anywhere on the outside of my arm, but not there. Same reason I flip out if someone grabs my ankle (the weird gap thing... you know).
I'm A- apparantly. I might suck it up and go donate once to see how much it bothers me, see if it'd bother me again. Seeing as my mom's A- and it's entirely down to blood donators that she survived her last operation (she took 15 bags of blood all in all, over her stay, and she's A- too) so that's sort of jump-started my conscience a bit.
I just hope I don't go to the wrong 'people' that will steal my liver when I'm unconcious for no apparent reason.
I did see a friend of mine, who's a pretty big guy, get his blood drawn while just sitting in a chair. He passed out and fell over, hitting his head on the side of the chair, so they wouldn't let him give blood for the day.
I've only donated blood once, and that was back when I was in HS so I could get out of class and they had some other thing going on to bride us into doing it. I'd donate more often but it's kinda hard to donate plasma and blood, especially when I depend on the money I get for plasma donation for supplies for my classes.
<b>O</b>
(I guess they're huge so your blood doesn't clot)
i donate everytime my school has a blood drive which is quite often
I can't remember the exactly quote of the top of my head...anyways if you're looking for a place to donate plasma do a google search for Biolife. They're a nation wide plasma donation center and have a location near you.

Heh not even close to me, the closest is North Dakota. But there is a nice big gap in coverage that extends from South Dakota all the way south to Oklahoma.
