An Exploit In The Comm Voting Process......

QuestionQuestion Join Date: 2002-11-18 Member: 9180Members
Lets say a newbie takes the comm,or the current comm is being disruptive. You are a qualified comm and you naturally want to take over.So you start the vote.He leaves by himself, you naturally hop into the seat and the newbie/lamer adds his vote to eject the comm(which is YOU!),you get banned and he can hop back into the seat -.-

The vote must recognize that the com can be CHANGED after the vote started. The vote must be rendered INVALID if the comm changes.....otherwise you get a perfectly good comm banned from the comm seat when he tries to take over a newbie/disruptive comm who wont leave out of his own will. Then the newbie/lame comm can just take the seat back and ruin the game!

Please fix this.

    Yes, I agree.
I saw this happen in V1.0 and made a post about it then, it is pretty annoying. It shouldn't be too hard to fix (maybe already fixed), just have the vote be applied to the person in the chair at time of start. That way he also can't just get out of the chair and evade the ban, then get back in. Make it so that even if he gets out the ban can still be applied to him.

Keep in mind that you may need to eject the second commander as well, so votes should be attached to whoever is in command at the time of cast.

Exactly, Nicuss. I don't see it being that hard to implement.
