Mobo Monitor
Anyone out there use the MBM 5 to monitor temps etc? I downloaded and installed it, but outside of the CPU and case temps, I am blown away by all of these "MBM 5 Sensor/Should display board sensor" settings. Specs:

AMD XP-+ Athlon CPU2200

Platinum Soyo Dragon Ultra KT333 MB

Er... this belongs in Off-Topic, given that it's not really directly related to NS.

Google around and see if someones made a config for your mobo. Thats the fastest way. The other is to just toy with it.

MBM development was stopped about a year ago, so depending on how old your mobo is, you might be out of luck.... go to the settings screen, Temperatures, "Should display board sensor" drop down - if that is empty, it's a no-go. I haven't come across a decent replacement to it yet.
If you have got some sensors in there to play with - reboot your machine when it's been on for awhile and up to temp, enter your BIOS, and goto the hardware monitoring section. Note down/memorise the temps + fans speeds you're getting, AND what they are connected to. Boot back into Windows, and goto Dashboard and Settings in MBM. For each of the sensors listed under "Should display board sensor" (normally it's 3 sensors, with 3 options for each) attach the first option for each to a MBM sensor, ie Sensor1 = Winbond1, Sensor2 = Winbond2... apply that, and see what you get. If any of them are completely crazy values, change the sensor option (ie swap Winbond1 to Winbond1 diode, or whatever the option is you get) and try again - it's going to be trial and error...
When you've got it setup, and you think you know which sensor matches up with which physical device, you can go into Visual and rename the sensor. Voltages and fan speeds should be fairly easy after that

Only 2 temperatures were noted in the BIOS, CPU and case. As to fans, only 2 were listed (I have 10), and the "CHAFAN1" showed 0 rpm.

However, if I open the Dashboard to MBM 5, it shows a Sensor 5 (currently at 138F) which I have no clue as to what it's monitoring. I also have a Fan 3 @912 rpm that wasn't in the BIOS.

One more thing: "Shutdown Temperature" was disabled by default. What should this be set at?
