Alien Swarm is a over head top down shooter.

iv played it for UT2k4 but some of the guys at valve played it and they are wanting black cat games to make a source version. where it will then be released via steam... OHNOES!!     That Alien Swarm mod is the only reason I might consider getting UT. And I think we all agreed several times over that its not really competition in the slightest.

    If it has anything to do with the original concept on UT then I won't like it. I hate those UT and Quake-like games where you run around shooting more and more people with a stupid array of weaponry in a deathmatch arena.

    The only "competition" I've heard of with NS was a mod called Paroxym (I think?). Man that was funny (not the mod, exactly, but the whole situation).

    Alien Swarm and NS are two utterly different games. How does that = competition? Sure they're both good games, but It's like saying Half-Life 2 was competition for Command and Conquer: Generals.
