To The Future Of Ns

I don't really play NS anymore. Sure i'll toss a game of Co around and watch a scrimmage between clans, but for the most part NS isn't a huge aspect of my life anymore.
For a long time I thought it was because of the changes that were made to NS. I thought some great injustice had been committed and that a great tyranny had been exacted against me.
Then I grew up. Got a job. Moved out.
Now, I don't play NS strictly because I haven't the time to dedicate to it like I used to. But more and more I've been grasping the concept of what NS is. NS is not a professional product (that is not to say it isn't professionaly quality,) but I think thats often forgotten. Granted Mr. Cleveland is doing his best to make it just that, it still isn't and I think the NS community for the most part has forgotten that. Everyone has a specific idea of what NS should be. If you even know me a bit, you know I've advocated several ideas and philosophies about scripts, combat, etc, but now I am an advocate of one thing.
That NS lives on. I think Flayra is making great strides and while it may not seem like it to the community, the monumental undertaking of starting your own company isn't something to be done overnight. And yet, he still takes the time to communicate with the community. I know, I've spoken to him on IRC and on ventrillo during an interview I did during the NS finals a couple years back. He's one of the very few people who has stricken me as someone overwhelmingly intelligent. </brownnose> And I fully believe he is capable of making NS a mainstream gaming product.
I think I've gone and misplaced my point, let me get back on track.
Here's what I'm trying to say. There are alot of you in the community with extremely bolstered egos and you want your way. I know, I was one of you and still kind of am. But trust in Flayra. I think he has good things coming for all of us. One of my goals is to be shacked up in a dorm at a UC in a few years, and I'm hopeful that NS will be one of my passtimes.
In closing, good luck with source and thanks. It sounds cheesy but being in an NS clan taught me a lot about people and how to deal with them. I mean, if you can deal with people from all over the country, with different political, religious, and philosophical differences to achieve a common goal, there may be hope for the world, eh?
I'll be snooping around the community still, but once again thanks. And good luck.

I got tired of people in general
Exactly, some of you out there are real smacktards.
Constant "OMG I'm leaving bcuz NS is sux0rz kthxbai"
and everyone's favorite "Jesus says CO players should
die" posts are alienating new and old members alike.

Given your chosen nomenclature, that would make quite an apt sig quote!

While many may be growing tired of threads like this, I'm sure that encouragement and faith in their hard work (such as this threadstarter) are what keeps Flayra and the rest of the team working on NS in its respective incarnations.

FYI bro I dont play on "idiot pubs." I've found plenty of games with way more than something you can call "decent" teamwork and still not had fun. Is it a problem that this isnt something fun for me anymore?

Funny thing is that teamwork on pubs is always killing marines / fighting sieges, never killing marine rts even though NS is a battle for res.
sure
What's that you say? Proof?
Half-Life was released in 1997. Is it any wonder that people are moving to next gen games? Like Wells said NS is doing extremely well for itself and patience is a virtue.

I recomend that you read that again. Negative views are allowed. Flaming of other people and other people's viewpoints is not.

thats usually only viable if one is interested in serious competition. otherwise, the number of clan and other organized groups isnt really that big, the number of 'just-for-fun' ones even lower.
not too many other alternatives otherwise, since its mostly certain pubs that are regularly containing 6-12 people on them
ultimately, NS for me is fine. so far, the changes arent enough to send me packin, and the whole point is to adapt to whats produced, not have it tailored to my, or anyone elses, specific play style.
lol
people are going to adapt by typing quit in console then go load up some other game.

huh? ns isnt "serious competition" although recent events may lead to a different opinion on that.

Care to tell us why you didn't edit the thread, deleting the offending posts to keep it on topic and address the issue rather than just reaching for the lock?
