Static Noise With Ambient Sound Effects?

<div class="IPBDescription">OMGWTHBBQ!</div> I am constantly getting static noise which seems to be related to the ambient sound effects in NS.
Two solutions:
1) Either you tell me how to remove the static noise from the ambient sound effects
or
2) You tell me how to disable the ambient sound effects

And I must say... coming from a CS:S environment, I am stunned by the graphics of this HL1 mod! I would rate these graphics ABOVE those of CS:S (and almost as stunning as HL2).
I can't wait to get my hands on a HL2 mod like this!
