what does ^^ exactly mean? I use it a bit like QFT when I want to express my support for the author's opinion in the article right above or the one I quote in my text... a friend now told me it means you find something funny.

    From what I've understood, it's sort of like a smile, but with the eyes. Best guess is that it's inspired by anime, but I don't know.

    QFT means Quoted For Truth, I believe.

    As far as I'm aware it's another animie style smilie / laughing eyes thing. Or just that you approve of something.

    Man, and people say learning English or Japanese is hard. Internet is way harder to learn... So many double meanings.

    I use ^_^ a lot. I also use ^^ when I'm chatting to people on MSN and my statement refers to a point/question made further up the chat.

    As a user of '^^' I can safely say the meaning is down to the person using it and the context it's used in.

    I only use it as a smiley (I used to use ^.^ and n.n but ^^ is quicker to type :p).

    Some people use it to indicate the line of text or post above them, HOWEVER they usually use more than one ^. So it's more like ^^^^^^.

    Any other use is just people being weird and making stuff up :p
