I model, ask people for crits, refine, map, skin.
Thats how it goes.
PC is around 2k, but still hasn't been optimized, so that'll drop around 200-300 polys from it.
Trying to get back into the NS community after a rather lengthy absence. wnn is still around, he does everything these days, people should encourage him more, he rules.
needs some front sights.
make the grip (the back one,closest to the magazine) a tad more rounded toward the front of it,looks kinda like a block for now...
and I got an idea.The top looks kinda seperate from the bottom,why not give the player a suprise,and have the whole top come off for reloading and have the marine put a new one on <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
After you do that, remove the barrel and add a gas cylinder above a new, smaller barrel. That will keep the barrel from looking too large but also keep it from looking empty. Dont forget a working bolt, too <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
K i'll update 2moz hopefully
Actually it might be easier. Given its a bullpup, your going to have to reach just above your armpit anyways, its might be better for the clip to be angled torwards where your going to grab it, that way you can slap it back in place a lot faster. Forward style mags are even more dangerous, considering you usually remove your right hand (one by the trigger) to pull the clip out, while the other holds the gun stable.
if I had some weak velco,it'd try to do it on the move...
reguardless of how you reload your gun,a gun with a magazine that sits at an angle to the body is ALWAYS easier to reload.
I've also been trying to do something with my ruger mk.1:
spin it on my right hand's middle finger,catch it and hit the magazine release at the same time and have the magazine fly out to the left,spin it vertically on my right hand's middle finger and flick a waiting magazine that is bottom side down on my foot up into...I've gotten into the foot flicking part,I've gotten it once...but that's once...
there is no space for the loading mechanism.

oh..it actually does, there is even a real life weapon with this configuration. just because something is unconventional, it does not mean its not going to work.

this is the TKB-022 7,62mm Assault rifle from 1947 designed by Korobov, a very light and advanced firearm with an almost unbreakable polymer frame, but also very expensive to produce (heh....1947... this thing was really SciFi to this time, even for today its a very uncommon design). it was a very close competitor to Kalashnikov´s AK-47 rifle to get the main assault rifle of the ussr. the TKB was dropped, because it was way to expensive to produce in large capacitys, and the complex but reliable downward ejecting reloading mechanism was not realy field strip friendly.
1962 introduced Korobov the TKB-23, a more advanced version chambered 7.62mm again with several metal parts replaced with leightweight composite materials.
<img src='http://yanai.blackmage.org/concepts/tkb23.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
there was no market for this thing..the only one who would use this kind of weapon was the military, and they already got their AK series, and something like a "weapon export market" for high tech weaponry wasnt existant or alowed in the ussr at this time.
so this one got stomped too.
heck,I've seen tiny 2 shot .22lr pistols that are smaller then my mouse,and work off a magazine <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->

oh yeah, whenever you cant get an explanation how something works, take the nanite arguement <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
@ sheena: no, its not "oh..it actually does, there is even a real life weapon with this configuration. just because something is unconventional, it does not mean its not going to work."
its more like "if you dont know all fire weapons on this planet you shouldnt answer like this."
conventional guns arent build like that, thats why this one looks damn wrong to me, no matter which technical explanation might be behind it.
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'><span style='color:red'>DONT MESS WITH SHEENA!</span></span>

just cause something looks wrong,doesn't always mean it is...
looks are deceiveing...
Doesn't mean it wouldn't work.
Remember, now: The loading mechanism only needs to be about as tall and wide as the bullets it'll be loading. Length isn't as much of an issue because it's moving around anyway.
Or it doesn't even need a mechanism at all; the spring in the mag will pop it up on its own, when the chamber's unobstructed. Always eject the round in the chamber after pulling the mag, kiddies. Russian Roulette fails miserably with an auto.
The firing mechanism isn't that much of an issue either; Glocks can have it completely contained in a fairly small space.
Did Shirow ever use that thing as inspiration for some of his Seburo designs? I always liked those tiny protruding barrels, like the baby M4 in A Man Apart that fired a billion rounds from a thirty-round mag... ¶§¦¬þ Nanites made it possible! It just needed stripes ftw!
