Weird Internet Problem

I'm not sure whats going on.
Well lately my computer and somebody elses computer (in the house), is lagging badly. While somebody elses computer (in the house as well), internet is doing fine. I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, I checked my cable, bought a new cable to plug to my computer from the modem. I use verizon DSL. I tried moving the plugs from my computer to the other computer that works fine (I mean I switched the plug to the modem from the fast working internet with mine, still the same), didn't work. Not sure about the cable but I bought a new one (to replace my old one, both are pretty much the same).

Checked for viruses and spyware on my computer. Turn modem off/on, didn't do anything. Well I'm not sure what the problem is, nor does anyone else. Anyone know what might help/cause this problem? Also I'm a little bad at explaining things, if anyone doesn't understand what I am saying ask.

Could be external problems, wires from the outside of the house. Did you have a storm that could have damaged anything outside recently? Even an animal chewing on the cables couldn't help. Perhaps something is loose or damaged outside.

Two out of three computers on your network are lagging, have you tried plugging your computer into the port that the none-lagging PC is using? Have either of you installed anything recently like firewall software that could be causing problems? How is your connection when the other computers are turned off/unplugged from your hub/router?

try resetting your router. if you have a cheap lousy router like me sometimes it slows down to a crawl and needs a reboot

Nope, didn't install anything recently. I tried changing the plug ports to the non laggy one, didn't do a thing. The internet connection is the same when the other computers are off.

Yeah I tried that as well. And I checked cables/wires, seems good, I even bought a new cable. Didn't do a thing. So I'm not sure what could be causing this. Tried calling my ISP, they didn't help much.

Well the problem is still the same so far, any other suggestions that may help solve the problem?

Well... which program/s are you using for spyware/virii control?

For clarification, you currently have more than two computers connected to the internet through this DSL modem, however only two are affected by the slow access/lag?

Here's what I would try: Goto http://www.xblock.com/installer.php and use it for spyware. install AVG from here: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5. Run these two, and then try it.

I had the same problem for a while on one of my machines, ended up having to reformat. Could be a plethora of things.

Alright Petco, you have taken care of all of my possible suggestions... Perhaps the NIC cards are going?

I replaced my card, I used it from the computer that had the fine, non laggy internet. The internet then wasn't as slow as before, but wasn't as fast as it's suppose to be. Then after 1-2 weeks, then internet started to get laggy as with my old card.

Oh yeah, sometimse my internet would be really slow the other day, then a little bit better. Also there were disconnetions and lag last year at around the same time, but the problems weren't the same, last year it randomly disconnected, this year it's just 2 computers out of 3.
