howdy folks i just want to take the time and say thank you for even looking at my post, anyway i go to www.unknownworlds.com and go to *files* and then i read the page it follows...
-Quick Start-
-blah, blah, blah...
-install *ns v3.0 installer*
-i register with UW...
-ok finaly its finished,
-then i run it.
-*welcome to the natural selection setup wizard* etc..
-click next to continue
:ok now here is where it gets tricky:
-the area where u type in the destination that you want to download it is...
-C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\MYSTEAMACCOUNT\half-life
:ok i dont know if this part is correct because NS is different from half-life itself right? so wouldnt it be downloading a new file like.....................................
C:/Program Files/Valve/Steam/SteamAppls/MYSTEAMACCOUNT/ns
anway i install it to this the first time..
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\MYSTEAMACCOUNT\half-life
it says the folder already exists would you like to overwright, i click yes and it downloads...
-i run steam
-i click on play games
-ns beta or w/e should be on the list it is not
-i go to my computer
-i go to the new half-life folder where i downloaded it..
-i look through ever nook and cranny and no where in the downloaded little set of folders is there and kind of NS game there is ALOT of NS files and soundwaves etc... but i dont see the icon to run the game i dont know if im downloading this in the right spot if im downloading it right at all but im confused with what to do because on my friends computer NS is like ns.betaV3.0 in his steam games and he just double clicks on it and it runs but HALF-LIFE does work, i can play my half-life game but i just cant find NS can anyone help me with this problem or is anyone else experiencing somthing of this trouble...

So go to -C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\MYSTEAMACCOUNT\half-life and run the installer.
I think you got confused, downloading the file and putting it in the steam folder doesnt make you play ns right away. The file you downloaded is an installer.

And btw, I think your signature is too big.. you should make it smaller <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> or the mods will nazify it
