Over at NSRadio, we've been steadfast busy. We've all been doing our part to entertain the Natural-Selection community.
- The NSRadio Store has just opened where you can recieve the NSRadio CD packed with Natural-Selection Musical favorites. Find it <a href='http://www.cafepress.com/nsradio_store' target='_blank'>here</a>.
- You can catch our Natural-Selection Invitational Casts from our e-Sports crew every other night depending on our match.
- We've just revamped our entire website, including a new file page, schedule page and other updated pages.
- Stonemonk's Aural Foreplay has been replaced with The Bathroom Urinal which is part of the Communist Block Party (CCCBP) which runs every Friday night from 8:00 P.M. EST - Midnight EST. This combines the Bathroom Urinal, the Show and DLNation in that order.
- You can catch our NSRadio Megaweek next week (starting July 17th) where we run every available show for a week straight. (IE: CAL/NSICast, Forum Junkies, Monday Night Tech and Rock, Late Night Hits, DevCorner, Midweek Melee, The Bathroom Urinal, The Show, DLNation and Mindsucking Good Time.)
- Getting that of the way, NSRadio is opening more positions for staff and administrative assistants. Some of the positions include Content Manager, Content Advisor, Website Assistant, DJ Assistant, e-Sports Producers, e-Sports Casters and normal DJs. Okay, so now finally thats done. I'll get to the real reason I'm making this post.
I'm doing a show starting Tuesday called Forum Junkies with Vepo (was known as SSJReNe`) and I'm looking for another person to help me out.
Basically, Forum Junkies is pretty much a talk radio show where forum threads off of the Natural Selection forums, MODNS forums, NSI forums and CAL Forums and we discuss the threads and give our opinions on things. Show us your stuff over at the <a href='http://www.nsradio.net/forums' target='_blank'>NSRadio.net Forums</a> to apply.
And lastly, Mr. Headcrab is looking for 3-5 people to help him out with his show. Mr. Headcrab's Mindsucking Good Time is the dramatic reading of NS Fan fiction. Pretty much, you can relate it to the first reading of War of the Worlds over radio in 1938, but this time, it's Natural-Selection fanfiction. Once again, throw in your application over at the <a href='http://www.nsradio.net/forums' target='_blank'>NSRadio.net Forums</a>

I'd say the main problem is that most stories aren't that long, but on the other hand this would make it easier to get a team together to read them. Or just one guy doing different voices, ftw.
But anyways, please, Headcrab really needs people for his show. Please put in an application. I'm still looking for one more person as well.

Considering we do all CAL and NSI coverage as well as a show, DLNation tons of other stuff pertaining to Natural Selection and run it free of charge to you, the Natural-Selection fan, I really don't think you have any room to moan.
EDIT: It maybe be a shoutcast server, soon steamcast, but we use other tools to stream like oddcast and jetcast.

But making that affair into an even superficially enjoyable experience requires significantly more time or a movie camera and a few million dollars.

I'm writing a SP Source Mod, I've written half a Fan Fic (8? Chapters) and I've also written a short journalism piece which can be found on the first page of the Fan Fic forums now. I'm not being naïve, I have personally seen evidence of great talent in the FanFic forums. In most cases the writers are a bit rough around the edges but nevertheless have unquestionable underlying talent. I think most of them just need a bit of encouragement and to take their work a bit more seriously (maybe the latter would come as a natural progression from the former). Having their stories selected to be read on the radio might help them realise their writing ability.
If you took the time to sift through the FanFic Forums, you'd see that there are a lot of good ideas, a few of which have been well-written enough to merit their broadcasting (with a bit of editing). What I will say is that it'd be a shame to have someone mediocre read them. The best reader won't be able to save a shoddy story and vice versa. Both the stories and the reader should be chosen with care.
It's quite a fine line to tread. It might be tempting to try and set some regular deadlines for Fan Fic readings. What I'd suggest to the team is not to release the piece unless it is read well, and only to select the best pieces of writing that have been through the neccessary (imo) editing process.
Churning out tat wouldn't do justice to the work that the NS Community produces and the high standards we have come to enjoy.

The difference is that capitalization on the end of my name (stallioN) is intentional, yet Edge really believes that "rines" is pronounced like the "<u>i</u>" in "rh<u>i</u>no".
