I C E

In Case of Emergency
I just got this email and thought that one good way of spreading the word would be on the NS Forums.
Note: This only applies to the UK residents or those travelling to the UK.
---
In view of yesterdays events in London East Anglian Ambulance
Service have launched a national "In case of Emergency ( ICE ) "
campaign with the support of Falklands war hero Simon Weston and in
association with Vodafone's annual life savers award.
The idea is that you store the word " I C E " in your mobile phone
address book, and against it enter the number of the person you
would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency".
In an emergency situation ambulance and hospital staff will then be
able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to
contact them. It's so simple that everyone can do it.
Please will you also forward this to everybody in your address book,
it won't take too many 'forwards' before everybody will know about this.
It really could save your life.

Still, good and "modern" idea.
That's what I thought too, until I read the post again. The difference is that you're not simply SMSing people some random touchy-feely crap like supporting cancelling third world debt. There's actually a practical (if a little macabre) point to it.
This is useful though. Those chain Emails are just a bunch of bs.
But seriously. We have no idea where the next attack will be; really simple logic dictates that we are all in an equal amount of danger.
Bigger landmass means more places to attack. Able to hold more terrorists and attack points. Wouldn't logic dictact America is a more likely target than England?
It would dicatate the exact opposite. Terrorists have to
A: come in on a plane or boat, thus being subject to customs
Making things alot harder for them.
While the fact with europe is that they could very well just WALK in, the landmasses are connected together...

We done our time. Remember September 11? When those trains in Spain were bombed, Spanish troops pulled out of Iraq. Now, British troops are also being pulled out. This isn't about killing America. At least not yet. Right now, it seems to be about getting rid of America's allies.

Dude, I hate to break it to you, but England is an island. Water on 4 sides, etc.

And a big honking TUNNEL from France, which in turn is connected to Germany, which in turn is connected to Austria, then Ukraine, then Russia, then Azerbaijan, then Turkey, then Iraq and from there.... you get the picture.
The point being, it is perfectly possible to walk all the way from the middle east to Britain, how do you think the immigrants do it?

This sir, is why I have a D in geography
What "fact" that terrorists aren't likely to attack England soon?
Besides, it doesn't make a difference whether people in England are or aren't in greater danger than people anywhere else. It's still a good idea.
Also, this is legit, I saw this on channel 5, and an interview of the paramedic who thought of the scheme.
Promise 'wealthy people' & criminals in their country that they will fet work in Britain and pay them back for giving them money to travel here in the backs of lorries. Although they go against that promise and claim asylum.

Do you really believe that England will get hit again? Britain is already pulling troops out of the Middle East, which is very likely exactly what the perpetrators were hoping to accomplish. As long as Britain continues to pull out, I can't see this happening again. There's a master plan underlying all this - it's not just blowing stuff up for fun.
And, sure, it's a great idea. A great idea for everybody to do - not just the British.

Of course not. I'm just saying there are no hard guaruntees either way.
England is connected by land to Wales and Scotland, so technically isnt an island in that sense, you could probably say Britain is an island, even though it comprises more then one landmass.
