Not as good as my last link, but this seems like one worth posting also for anyone who hasn't seen it (usually if it's new to me, it's new to everybody).

Personally I think the interviewer got what he had coming. Some obnoxious media people think they're invincible and have a free check to be total asshats. Whose side do you take in this? Think the guy overreacted? Discuss, and enjoy!

Chris Everett is a female tennis player.
Here's hoping that Chris.. er, Jim is walking around a couple million lighter.

Hoping? So can I assume that you're on the irritating knob's side?
Here’s hoping that interviewer had to buy a new pair of pants...cocky little **** that he is.
Also I think Mr. Everett will be just fine in court, he gave a clear warning to the guy to stop. A decent lawyer should be able to hold that he was provoked into a state of uncontrollable anger.

Rome also caused controversy when, in 1997, he challenged hockey star Gordie Howe's plans to play a shift with the IHL's Detroit Vipers, which would have given "Mr. Hockey" the claim of having played professional hockey in six decades. Rome offered a bounty of $3,000 to any player on the team playing against the Vipers to take Howe out of the game permanently. Howe and his wife threatened Rome with a lawsuit, and the bounty went away.

Slugging someone for calling you a name is something a redneck would do. The rest of us are hopefully a bit more civilized, even to annoying people. After all, you have to deal with them the rest of the time too. Just because you're a minor sports celebrity doesn't give you the right to 'shut someone up if they don't shut up'.
Of course, he COULD always go for the 'mentally deficient' plea. The 'learning disadvantaged' aren't expected to adhere to civil conduct.

Well I geuss you're a better human being than me. Gimme a pair of c'boy boots and a guitar, cause I would've done the same thing.

I don't know, theres a thin line between backing down from a fight because your the better man, and being subservient and bullied.
I'm willing to bet given enough private information about your life and speaking in a dreadfully mocking tone in front of your face, I could drive you to physically harm me.
As I’m sure if pushed, and as has happened once before, so would I.
Ether way I don't think this counts as assault, he really didn't do anything to him after he through the table. The **** kinda tried to hit him and sort of pushed off him and fell to the ground after that some guy and ran up and it looked like it was all over.
Of course we don't know all the circumstances so it's hard to tell what was going through his mind. It appears like the interviewer had been harassing him for some time, 5 years I think he says, so it's not like it was some random play insult.
He clearly meant to irritate and hurt him.
This isn't your "guy on a cell phone in a movie theater" annoyance. He was warned and he continued to harass, honestly it's like watching a bird flying up to a lion and pecking it in the eye over and over, you don't feel sorry for the bird when it gets eaten.

If I were a judge, I'd rule that the irritating **** provoked Jim and deserved what he got. Then I'd sentence everybody in the courtroom to death by fire.
Try grabbing the quicktime alternative codec and then getting .mov to associate with mplayer or whatever you use. Just uninstall quicktime while youre at it.
The football player could barely string a coherant sentence together. I think this would be perfectly plausable.
