<div class="IPBDescription">What can Beat An army of fades?</div> NOthing! Nothing can beat well organised army of fades....You say Hv Armors!! Hv machineguns!!! Yeah rigth How many marines using this thingy's ? A lot......And How many resources comm needs to spend ? A lot.......How often comm drops MANY weapons and armors.....NOT ALOT...they always think about attack and securing hives (whitch is good strategy) and there is no room for A LOT of equipment....So fades just eat us <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    yes fades MAY seemed like they are overpowered. i've seen good marine teams with a GOOD commander give out welders to HA and HMG marines. welders man...its all about the little blue torch.

    Must have HA + a shotty or a HMG. It's that simple. Upgraded fades - and let's face it, in 19 out of 20 games they will be - are no match for an un-upgraded marine. Heck, even a fully upgraded marine doesn't last long. LMG + basic armor literally melts to the acid rockets. Give your marines HMG but no HA, and the fade will take them out long range with splash damage.

    Give them HA but no heavy weapon, and the fade will be able to whittle them down melee style while sustaining little damage.

    So the solution is: Get two marines with HA and HMG / shotty AND A WELDER EACH! I believe it's a 110 PR investment or so. But two diligent marines in HA with HMGs or shotties that remember to<b> WELD EACH OTHER </b>can sustain quite a lot of fade abuse. It also helps if the commander is on the ball and drops them ammo + health.

    Oh, and regarding fade combat: a shoot-out at range is in favor of the fade normally. You need to get closer to them that your shotty or HMG hits with most of it's cone, and that the fade cannot easily dodge near a healing chamber or into a corner to regenerate it's health. It's about keeping the initiative when battling fades, and you lose it with your basic portal'ed in "Skulk food" grunt.

    A well organized army of HA/HMG and HMG/welder support. The problem is that by the time aliens get fades, marines usually dont have enough nodes to support such an army.

    Hope they can't work well as a team
    When you think they a taken enough bashing from turret fire chase after them then finish them before they can heal.
    It’s is the only way to finish them solo (if you don't consider it something)

    If in hall alone way stay away from walls (due to splash damage) strafe allot dodging when they pop around corner unload they when you think they taken a bit charge around the corner hopefully they won't suspect it and get a chance to kick them when they are down <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> (i.e. low adrenaline + health) works some times
    Oddly enough they seams to own at a distance

    In teams try to attack in waves of two either side of them if can (as one group splash will get them all)

    Chasing fades? WOOOHO i tried that......with bad results.....Usually when i trie to kill a fade he just runs away ....and i chase him he runs away missle bombing me......alright i got him! Im now standing 1 m in front of him HORRAY! Now i die from his tiny claws <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> . Ok.......these days fades are team working! Chasing fade who just hit a turret a couple of times is not the best idea......I was chasing the**obscenity** and suddenly i hear a nice De cloak noise.....from behind....slasCH!! SLASCH!!!     A good commander is able to make decoys for the fades while advancing with the true army into a room near the hive, for sieges, after u have a whole independent base, you place atleast 2 sieges as near as possilbe to the hive, but never place sieges unprotected, if you have 3 ha´s+hmg+welder with 4 turrets and an armory, the aliens are pretty much screwed....
    Its all about strategy ppl...

    An hmg/ha marine can stand quite good against a fully upgraded fade. They can both take about the same dmg (the fade with carapace a little bit more, without quite much less), fades are faster but marines do much more dmg per timeframe. And if you complain about a hmg/ha marine beeing to expensive, you don't get fades for free as well. It takes you a lot of time morphing, 2 hives and the same rp a ha/hmg marine costs.

    The only chance the Marines have got against Fades is to have a good commander that secures the resource nodes and a hive with a resource node in it at the start. Researches Heavy Armour and MG and starts doling them out to his best players that can aim and know how to work as a team. Two marines with HA and HMG working together healing each other can own many, many fades.

    Ah, yes, it is slaughter to have a team all go fade (after capping tons of resource nozzles, there's the key, don't let them get nozzles and you won't have to deal with this) and not much can stop them... especially if they have a lerk umbra bot.

    Just put your head between your knees and kiss your arse goodbye.
