Knife Vs. Onos

While waiting in spawn, an Onos came blasting through our base. He killed nearly everyone... then one brave soul emptied his pistol into the beast, pulled out his knife, jabbed twice and killed it.
As funny as that was, it made me think: Wouldn't it be funny if knives were very damaging to an Onos? More than HMGs? Mind you I wasn't the only person attacking the thing. It was during on of those 10-minute-aliens-have-3-hives-lets-fight-as-long-as-we-can-at-spawn fights, so he got heavily damaged entering our spawn (I presume) as I saw him only when he began climbing up to the platform where the commander station is. I followed him up, and he was just ignorant and stupid, just standing there knawing on the station, while I burned his **obscenity** with the welder. Variable damage versus species/armour?
Example, Fade claws ,Skulk Leap & Lerk spikes extra dmg vs HA, but lower vs LA (because an LA can try to "roll with the punch" whilst a HA {a la medieval armour} is easier to puncture, than tear.
But the same applies to Onos / Fades.
Whereas Skulks (due to their eminent dodging skills) take less from Launcher (Less area to hit) but more from LMG?
Would also encourage mixed teams of Aliens / Marines, rather than the standard groups of HA/HMG & Fade/Lerk we're seeing a lot at the moment...
Sure, we lost in the end, but any time I bring down an Onos with a knife I claim a personal victory.

I don't see, logically mind you, how a knife would do much against carapace of a Onos, though the thought of people fighting Onos is also comical....Just see it now, kind of like wresteling.

i was a gorge building around a resource tower in..... damn i forgot the map
and suddenly i hear a "hive is under attack" i look around, find the hive, go skulk, and start running there, i get there and to my surprise, i find a marine with a jetpack and a welder, WELDING OUR HIVE TO DEATH, i try leaping around to kill him.... but to no avail, he welded our hive to death
