<div class="IPBDescription">Life without the NS forums?!</div>Well, how has life been without the NS forums for you guys, over the past year? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> I know that I've changed a lot. My life isn't all that different, unfortunately, but <b>I</b> am.
<ul><li>I've changed a lot, mentally. Grown quite a bit. I'm probably still an immature little jerk, though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" /></li><li>Started getting out more. I go for long walks pretty often. The last really big walk I took was a six mile one.</li><li>I go to the library fairly regularly, now. Even though I don't spend a whole lot of time reading books, because the lure of the computer is too strong.</li><li>I've hardly been playing games at all, lately. Mostly Battlefield 2 and Zen of Sudoku.</li><li>I'm still learning Visual Basic.NET (Which I started right before the forums went down). I'm getting pretty good at it, now. But I still haven't finished any significant projects. :/ I've got a slightly buggy tabbed Notepad replacement worked out, though! I might move over to C# eventually, because that's the more popular of the two. But I think I might die without the "My" namespace. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" /></li></ul>

Comments
<ul><li>I've had 2 relationships since. Both failed, but now I'm best friends with both of them.</li><li>I've discovered the beauty of more diverse musical choices- I'm listening to just about everything now.</li><li>I've become more open sexually, and care less about whether people call me a homosexual or whatever. I'm straight, sure, but whats so wrong with not being it(this is not meant to start a topic).</li><li>I've played the hell out of WoW. I'm involved in one of the worlds most succesful Guild Consortiums(aka, a collection of many small guilds that raid as a single entity, with a fully established loot system). Its definately a ton of fun, and were even starting BWL this week(We've completed MC, ZG, AQ20, and of course Ony).</li><li>I've gotten a lot more into interface designing, mostly thanks to WoW- I'm even on the dev team to a UI mod for WoW, called "MyRoleplay". Expect a much easier to use one soon!</li><li>I've graduated high school, and begun community college- and its looking like I'll be going to my final college this year, as well, the good ol' Digipen. I'll be sure to come back as often as possible though.</li></ul>
(after reading and seeing that i sound like hella sad nerd i added the following)
<ul><li>beefed up</li><li>gotten all de ladiez</li><li>killed a man by throwing a live bear at him</li></ul>
Ok so you're basiclly saying that you got slimmer and more of a nerd? (more time at the library, .NET) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Yes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
Slightly more mature though.
EDIT-
Oddly enough, my mate did a song about <a href="http://rapidshare.de/files/26257835/TRUE_STORY.rar.html" target="_blank">me over the past year.</a>
Of course I didn't really lose the forums. /me ducks
Those are the two big things.
Quiet year....
- Joined AIESEC (global student run internship program) which has changed my life a lot for the better
- Became addicted to WoW
- Got my friends to learn some instruments so we can start a band
- Been to 2 national conferences with AIESEC across Canada for a week... tons of fun
- Done more stuff with AIESEC
- More stuff with AIESEC
In short... YAY FOR AIESEC!
- Went to jail for putting aforementioned pile out on the curb for Tuesday garbage pickup
+ Got laid once or twice
- Bragged about getting laid on internet thus actually regaining my virginity
+ Finally got Israel to fight Lebanon, for personal amusement, with clever usage of smoke and mirrors
- Indirectly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of innocent people
+ Started working out
- Stopped working out
+ Ate and slept
- Got addicted to Ambien and started doing both at the same time
+ Judged wet T-shirt contest
- Got banned from biker bar for throwing up on wet T-shirt contestants.
+ Discovered cure for AIDS
- Got nervous and used only prototype of cure on myself
+ Found out NS forums are back online
- Already started making stupid, offensive posts
-Worked at Valve a lot. Got hired full time instead of just contracting.
-Went to Slamdance (same time place as Sundance, just further down the street) to show off Narbacular Drop.
-Went to GDC '06 as an IGF student showcase winner for Narbacular Drop. Got interviewed for GameHead while I was there but my tivo decided to grab "Mind of Mencia" instead of GameHead the day it was on, so I still haven't even seen it.
-Bought a house with my brother. No more hour long daily commutes for me.
-Played a hell of a lot of Day of Defeat: Source while getting paid for it. Broke some maps with my mad phat MG skills, which in turn got some of my favorite spots exposed to a convenient sniper window.
-Checked the forums at least 4 times a week to see if they were up or if there was any news.
-Met Charlie Cleveland(Flayra) and Garry Newman(from Garry's Mod) in person, that was pretty nifty.
That's about it. Pretty much a year of <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
Now I'm sort of kind of doing something about it though...
Emoemocutcutcut.
zomgWOW.
Underachivement solves problems.
Actual change? None.

Wait...is all of that true? The french chef? The shroomer restaurant? You lived with a 14 year old girl and DIDN'T date her? This is all just so...so wierd!
oh and look at my pr0 post count o;
Add to that, Ive made Crepes without eggs, been dragged in to work at 3:00 AM to make help said former shroomer make puff pastry, and then had the cops called on us because the people in the apartment upstairs thought we were beating someone to death (This was before I even got paid to work there, mind you), I turned 21 (w00) and Im sure theres other things that Im still forgetting. Its been an... interesting time
So, other than those server difficulties you ran into with BM.org, hows things?
since the forums went down i managed to graduate from highschool, stage two hostile takeovers and scuttle a radio station.
i also set up a win2k3s server to serve up some imageboards (static pages generated via perl), this took several days. the server host went south and then i got to do it all over again under freebsd (much <3 to iggy, who can't read this, for helping), this took not more than four hours. if monse is alive he's probably going to want to kill me but i will never touch win2k3 server again. EVAR.
i'd link to the boards but i'm pretty sure the rules are still enforced...
<ul><li>grew my hair even more</li><li>finished first year of college</li><li>worked on II (insects infestation) for a bit</li><li>got a macbook pro which has now broken >_<</li></ul>
