i went and saw this movie and i have to say, i was extremely displeased with it. i was expecting someone entertaining and fun, but what i got was fish people. i thought the plot was nowhere near the quality of the first, from the first minute to the last it was nothing but unanswered questions. of course i know that is because disney is setting itself up for another crappy sequel because that is their job, making crappy sequels.

now, there is one thing that i actually did like about the movie. and that was the casting of zoidberg. best davy jones ever.

    If they had cut out the crap at the beginning with the natives on the island, and actually constructed a coherent storyline, it would have been good. But they didn't. So it wasn't.

    A friend of mine noticed a striking similarity to another movie...

    I never saw the first one but I went to see this one (we didn't plan on seeing a movie and this was the only decent looking thing on). I had nothing in particular against the movie, but it was so LONG. I've never actually gotten bored in a cinema before.

    There was a cheer from the audience when it was over, and my legs didn't work when I stood up.

    Rotten Tomatoes had half saying it was rotten, half saying it was fresh.


    Pretty much, if you liked the first one, just go see it. If you haven't, just go see it anyway, since it might be better than not seeing the first one first.

    Pirates of the Carribean 2 was a good half-movie. It never really concluded anywhere, and didn't tie up any loose ends, so it seems like it will be a 5-hour super-adventure.

    Was OK imho, pacing was kinda bad so while I was watching it I was kinda just waiting for it to end. Needs more Jack though, lots of funny bits though not as much as the first movie. Glad Barbossa is back.

    oh, and I can't believe I waited for that crappy scene afer the credits

    So, I got to thinking, on the internet, is there any such thing as a good movie? It seems like every time a movie comes out people have to treat it as if it's the worst thing to have been projected on the silver screen, ever.

    Really, what was so bad about it? It had comidy, it had action, it had Zoidberg.

    The only complaint I've heard about the movie was from some yuppie parents who shelter their kid who had me void their tickets because it was too scarry for theit 10 year old.

    Slow start, nothing interesting happening in the begining that didn't draw me in and dissapointing middle that followed up a poor start that failed to capture my attention.
    Found myself texting during most of the film and indulging in food, typical cheesy hollywood ending but hollywood has a habit of screwing up sequels.
