The webs idea sounds neat, although I really hope they make it so you can see your webs appear while having alien flashlight on, that is sorely needed <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />.

I cant wait for the new maps they are thinking about putting in 3.2
i doubt anyones going to play them, even if they are the best maps ever. look at eon and altair. specifically eon, i think its an amazing map. every big game ive played on it has been amazing, but no one ever plays it. altair is a pretty damn good map as well, but still no one plays it at all.

its really sad, i love th new maps but most of the players play the same maps over and over again <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
and yes, if it is possible please finally fix the annoying bug that webs cant be seen :/

yes thats very true
The web change however, while it's an important change, will mainly effect combat.
I don't think it's as much that the community refuses to play new maps as it is that nobody likes to learn them. I've been playing NS for coming up on 4 years, I just can't be bothered anymore to learn map layout, room names, vent positions, etc all over again. That's why I'm not fond of new maps that are large and/or complicated, even if they're perfectly balanced and playable. Eventually I'm forced to play them enough that I can tolerate them but they never get quite as familiar as something like eclipse or tanith.

The mini map helps a lot, as it shows the map layout, vent positions, names, etc.
and yet you're a playtester so it's part of your job to learn the new maps ^_^

ha ha ha
But the real issue here would've been NS:Source. They haven't even started yet and HL2 (as an engine) is already 2 years old. If they have 2 years of production, nobody will talk about NS:1 or NS:S anymore...
imho, as long as movement allows to teleport to a hive under attack it cant be beaten
that ability itself is just so strong, and that in addition to upgrades that benefit really EVERY alien
i dont think movement can easily tweaked so we see equal usage of the 3 chambers

Yeah, and H-Bombs
hard to find that map in a rotation though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
Options are what you want from great gameplay, and that goes for maps as well. eon and altair, as well as orbital, are fine maps. I'm convinced that, as we play them more on TGNS (they've all been in rotation for some time), they'll become closer to tanith and veil on the PLZ PLZ list. I'm sure the same would hold true with other servers. I can remember when ayumi kept people ######ing and moaning, and we just don't get that anymore, as we've played it enough.
The challenge is getting folks to play the maps at all in the first place.
Moving on to personal bias, I think the best way to keep players interested in a game is to keep it evolving. That means map changes, balance changes, etc. That's why I'm excited to see more activity on NS, more discussions, and more buzz in general, even if I won't agree with all the changes (which, by the law of averages, I surely won't).

You're welcome <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
I think it is understandable that a large portion of the community will be slow to adapt to new maps. Some people really don't enjoy the confusion a new map brings to their server, others love it. In the long run the good maps gradually get accepted. Ayumi will never be the most popular NS map, but many people love to play it now. Recently eon got voted over origin for the regular CAL season rotation. I applaud the CAL communtiy for this decision and I totally agree that eon is a better map.
