<div class="IPBDescription">I need a new FPS.</div>Apparently SiN has been reduced to $15 via Steam. (Thats about £8 GBP) It's also cheaper than Darwinia. :-O
So... any played it? Is it any good? How big is the download? (I hate watching Steam download slow files and updates but I'm not going to find SiN in local stores for less than £20.)
Comments here please

The weapons are basic(with the pistol overpowered), the enemy AI is decent at best, and the difficulty tuning is kinda wierdly off.
The main point is a obvious one: <a href="http://www.halflife2.net/news/1147291434_hot.JPG" target="_blank">http://www.halflife2.net/news/1147291434_hot.JPG</a>
I thought SiN was a decent, short game and didn't feel ripped off.
I did like HL2:Ep 1 more--but I'm under no delusions that every game will be a AAA title. Of course, I also paid for <a href="http://jng.rakeingrass.com/" target="_blank">Jets N Guns</a> and Shadowgrounds. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> Both fun games.

Geez. Millions of dollars in development time for the engine, and they waste it on a girl with pastel smears for skin and a total lack of any complicated lighting effects?
took me 1.35 hours to "beat"... the bug ###### me off, not because it was a whole MAP missing, but because when you load the map after it, i ended up losing some ammo... which made me mad..
other than that, it's ok, nothing special, i'de suggest another game, but i'm playing war rock, in open free beta... and it's frustratingly simple and cool-ish
There's only 3 guns, but each has an alt-fire mode, which actually does something noticeably different from the original, plus you get incendiary grenades. That gives you 7 distinct weapons, each of which is very useful and used for distinctly different things, so they really make good use of their weapon slots.
My only weapons complaint is with the Biogen. To explain, obviously the game lets you make use of certain terrain items as additional weapons, with exploding fuel barrels being the best example. They also have canisters full of Biogen, which heals humans and hurts mutants, so it seems reasonable that you can use those as makeshift weapons against the mutants that you encounter. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite work the way you'd expect, as the damage output of a Biogen cloud is so low you'd be better off smacking the mutants to death in melee. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
The length was decent, longer than I expected really, and I have no idea how Delarosa finished it in 1-1/2 hours. He refers to a bug (which I didn't see) which removed a map though, so maybe he skipped a head a few maps using cheats. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
In all honesty I gave up on SiN and borrowed a copy of PREY off a friend instead.
It's alright but would be an even better if it didn't crash every 10 minutes.
Never mind.
