<div class="IPBDescription">Think of the upcoming Battlefield game</div>They have a mothership that can launch rocket pods down to the battlefield while the other team has vehicles that launch out pods that land on the mothership to assault it. Maybe this type of gameplay could be made?
If NS was first-contact and NS:S is the war then we need huge battlefields or huge alien caverns or a spacestation of some sorts that can have big open spaces for firefights or small dark ones for ambushes.

No, we dont.
If you want that, go play BattleField 2142.
NS is all about close quarter's combat, if they turned it into another battlefield clone, i would kill myself.

NS HAS been about close quarters because, frankly, that's all the Half Life engine would allow. I don't know if Flayra's "true vision" involved more open combat areas or this close-combat style, but the fact it was so in the first NS doesn't neccesarily mean it has to be so from now on.
As for being a Battlefield clone, are you kidding me? BF2 borrowed from Natural Selection. Of course a "future NS" is going to be similar to BF2142... BF2142 is using a lot of ideas borrowed from NS. I think killing yourself may be a rather extreme answer, however...
Having said all that, I'm unsure if the idea given is, in overall terms, a good one. Perhaps as an incidental matter in a certain map, with the battle effectively taking part in two different areas, but not as an on-going thing... I just don't see any particular reason to split the battlefield into two parts, and doing it that particular way just seems a little extreme, especially when we already have teleporters to move around with.

I've played the 2142 open (Or, semi-open) beta, and really failed to see anything similiar to NS. Even in the idea's, i really didnt see much.

BF2142 didn't have capture points of some sort? It didn't mix RTS and FPS? Squad combat wasn't emphasised or encouraged? (I haven't played the beta, genuine questions.)
I put it to you that some of the biggest best ideas that NS uses/created/made popular (delete as applicable to personal viewpoint) have simply become so widespread, especially in the BF series, that you don't even really notice them anymore. Probably a good thing actually... the smartest design ideas are usually so obvious that they quickly seem like they've always been around.

Actually, this would be how it goes.
C&C Renagade > Natural-Selection > BF2
In the chronology of RTS/FPS games... who knows, maybe Renagade took some ideas from Rainbow Six (their planning phase)...
