Raaargh, It's been an interesting year for me, quit my boring office job to persue my photographic/photojournalistic career, which is slowly turning out pretty damned good.

I too felt the temporary addiction to WoW, but I quit shortly after hitting level 60. And I've been playing DOD:S mostly with spurts of Hidden: Source, which is an interesting mod to say the least.

Been a busy guy though, made my own portfolio webby, invested in way too much camera equipment, and have taken over 25,000 photos of just about everything <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />. All while having a part time job... And partying. Very hard. Rawk!

[Edit] Oh yeah, and my hair is a hell of alot longer too <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Graduated from university.
Got a job in the gaming industry. Love it. The pay is swell and I love my team.
Bought a new car. Upgraded the hell out of my computer.
Got a serious boyfriend. Looks like we may get married in a year or two.
Reached a somewhat better truce with my parents.

All this has made me appreciate life more, I think. I've found that I have a lot more emotional depth than I used to, and along with that, a lot of stress (worrying about grades and finances) is gone.

Today I'm supposed to be emailing my boss to say "yes I'll take the job but pay me more money", except I'm hung over. We took it for a service, and the mechanic said he was surprised it hadn't broken and crashed already. So yeah, new car. I never realised what a piece of crap my old car was until I drove something else.</li><li>Computer died. Currently on my ancient pentium 90. In the process of researching what parts I'm going to get for its replacement.</li><li>Various other, personal stuff.</li></ul>

It's my kitten, not my persona. Her name is teddy and she flops in your hands like a little ragdoll if you pick her up, and she can do backflips.

I love cats and they love me, but I rather fancy cat's as more human then they really are if I'm playing pretend about animals then fancying myself more animal then I am.

Although I've seen very litle in interest towards myself, I will amuse my own crazy self by listing my year or so worth of events:

- Wasted two summers (woot): wone working at a meat packing plant so I could go on a semester abroad, the other looking for a less annoying, smelly, disgusting, backbreaking job while spending the other half of it playing WoW and being bored 80% of the time (...playing WoW). On that note, anyone wanna buy a fifty-something priest account on Demon Soul <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

- Had my 'intensive German study' semester abroad in Magdeburg, Germany. I'd like to think I'm at least partially fluent in Germany now.
-- Visited: Rome, Italy | Lisbon, Portugal | Aachen, Germany | Berlin, Germany | Prague, Czech Republic | Weimar, Germany (...not in that order)
-- Almost had a girlfriend, twice. Both times my social ineptitude completely botched my chances.
-- Took more pictures of random things than should be physically possible.
-- Got drunk 3 times, only very drunk once...in Prague...lost a hat...(by very drunk I mean that I sound like an idiot (more of one) on camera)

- Learned no one wants to hire someone incapable of driving a car at night due to vision inadequacies (woot, thanks crappy eyesight).

- Learned that all the forces on Earth do not want me to get in better shape. I finally start working out - BAM ...gall stone -> surgery -> recovery time -> back to university.

- Forgot a majority of programming knowledge, while expanding my ability to modify Paradox's Hearts of Iron 2 (probably a poor trade-off in retrospect).

Overall I'm feeling kind of useless at the moment because nowhere I apply for jobs do I get hired, and due to the afforementioned visual problems I can effectively only work somewhere within walking distance (not that I have a car anyway, even if I could drive at night). Plus I feel like I'm forgetting more than I'm learning, which isn't really a good sign. It's like that feeling of being lost even though you know exactly what to do. Someone hire me to do something productive <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> . Plus I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with German and History majors and an International Studies minor when I'm done with college in one year.

There, not just a recap of my last year, but a recap of my present state of mind, woohoo. (Effectively 3 months of monotonous boredom, followed by 3 of the greatest months humanly possible followed by the last 9 months of 'meh' and 'bah').
