CALeague’s Natural Selection division is coming to a close. It’s been a great 10 seasons for all who were involved. I’d like to thank the developers for providing such an amazing game that has never received its rightful praise. I’d also like to thank the select players who have kept the league going while maintaining a high-level of professionalism. In addition, I’d like to thank all the CAL staff, past and present who have kept this division alive and well for so long.
I’d also like to thank the league’s past champions.
Season 1 – Evolution Revolution
Season 2 – Exigent
Season 3 – Exigent
Season 4 – Terror
Season 5 – Exigent
Season 6 – Terror
Season 7 – Terror
Season 8 – Obscure
Season 9 – Xensity
Season 10 – Damage Networks
CAL -ns has taught many things, teamwork, organization, cooperation, competition and so much more. Many players have gained friendships that they will keep for the rest of their lives through this game, and through CAL.
I remember my first time playing the game, it was Halloween 2003 – I hopped on a local west server and people were using voice communication in-game. The commander was actually using it to guide his team to the right locations. The map was on Eclipse and I had no idea what I was doing – the commander kept screaming “GET TO HORSESHOE!” And I wondered to myself – “Horsehoe?!?! What the hell is this guy talking about?” Then after walking around for a little bit, I noticed the location names – and finally found horseshoe and I’ve been playing this game ever since.
I really appreciate the effort that went into the game and the organizations surrounding it. Thanks to the #nslearn community – which outlasted the game’s official nsguide organization. The IRC channels that kept on the community together - #nspug, #findnsscrim. The public servers and communities that funneled new players into the competitive scene. All of you did an outstanding job in keeping such a small game alive and strong.
I’d like to point out that some ns players have moved onto bigger and better things within CAL. They have gone on to play for CAL-Invite Counter Strike and CS:Source teams, and even to win championships in those games. I hope that all you guys will move onto better things, not only in gaming – but in life. I will be continuing in helping out with other games in CAL (so you might see me around).
Sorry I didn’t use the template <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

<DuoGodOfDeath> well atleast we have the euro league
Well, at least we have this thread: <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com:90/forums/index.php?s=4756138606383647744&showtopic=98081&st=0&#entry1569592" target="_blank">Upcoming mapping release</a>

I sincerely hope NS2TR will be released soon...
someone make a ytmnd with the news screenshot and the "fail" sound effect from the price is right
Good!
/me runs away with an extreme wedgy
But seriously folks, it will be missed. It's a major facet of the community (better or worse, that arguement is for another time) and "poof" it's now gone. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />
hahahaha.. euro league? heh.

what's so funny?
I'll have to have to watch the euroleague now, since CAL-NS is poft. Oh well...
<a href="http://ensl.zanith.nl/" target="_blank">http://ensl.zanith.nl/</a>
seriously though, I assume this is the nazi CPL/CAL admins telling us that even though we are able to keep a league together, that it is not worth the slot on their forum list anymore? Correct me if im wrong, but knowing the dedication of lynXij and others, this is probably the case. If the interest is still there was is to stop us from just setting up caleaguens.com and continuing as normal?
Feel free to sign up on ENSL. They are the premier euro competitve gaming league.

you see lynxij, singups are closed atm. for season 5, but new teams can play in combat ladder(you need atleast 3 players to play)
bad day... bad day for ns... :/
but thx cal staff...
Pfft, think of a forest. A biiiig one, then put a huge rainstorm in there. after that 3 mushrooms=1 new NS euro-clan then add the poor-people who get bad-pay they are the ENSL workgroup. Then make it all together and you have the euro-NS pumping up more steam than th laser in laser-drilling.

Huh?
Sureley there has to be 5-6 American NS teams which someone can just run a low-caliber league for.

All american clans do like reflect and play in ENSL if you still have interest in the game.
....so when's the site going live?
This is a terrible day for ns. Hopefully the next game isn't too far off.

Considering they haven't even started full-scale production of it - I'd say it's pretty far off.
