<div class="IPBDescription">a robot drone</div>well i think it would be great if the commander had a weak fighting drone that he could use to patrol the base, shoot skulks biting on ips and also even build.
it would be controled from inside the comm chair and would be another pop up screen if you have onewhich u could activate and then conntrol him thorgh this small screen like you would a marine,

havent really thorgh about it much but.
i would say make it have 50 hp 200 armor, which can be welded.
and make him have just 2 weapons a welder and something even weaker than a lmg.

there could be a few usefull drones that could be made but even just one would be good

    meh, the idea doesn't intrigue me nor do i think it would fit in with NS2, but this is just me. The commander already has enough to do, he doesn't need to worry about operating/wasting res on a drone that just sits at base. In pub games there is always at least one person that humps the armory all game anyway.

    besides that, if the comm wanted to waste res on locking down a base just TF it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    I would go into the base as a skulk and deliver the 6 bites needed to kill the thing. Even if I don't do anything else productive, I've wasted that res for the marines. So, it's useless for protecting the base. And as other people already said, if it builds things in base then it reduces teamwork, shouldn't be needed, etc.

    This is a bit too much trouble for the comm.     Like a drone that the commander can control as you would in a normal rts game, he could tell marines to follow it, send it in first as cannon fodder or as backup for marines.
    Something like a tachikoma from the Ghost in the Shell series <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    I like the idea of a buildable drone that you could maybe assign to a squad with marines and it would follow the squad around. Or you could send it somewhere and marines would follow. It would be very weak but it would be small, versatile, and functional. A camera could be mounted on it that marines could see say if they wanted to see around a corner. This kinda reminds me of the Doom 3 turret-bots

    Maybe 3 types, a support bot(lmg mounted), a demolition bot(removal of structures i.e. chambers or whatever) , or a surveillance bot(peeks around corners or senses motion). Something.....or maybe nothing.
