<div class="IPBDescription">a silly idea, but i like it</div>You know of all my memories playing natural selection the greatest strength that the game had in my mind was the community and social interaction. It was really the only mod i know that made use of the mic feature for more that just swearing, racial slures, and the like. You needed to talk to be a team in the game, so people talked, and people made jokes, and even became friends. So after a short time playing the game on a good server(SoM was my server back in the day i was Jones), you had some people you really enjoyed playing with, but what would always happen? The answer is simple your freind would go on one team then everyone else would rush that team and you and your friends(s) would be on different teams and miss out on alot of fun. Maybe there should be a way to tag yourself to another player in the RR or wherever so that whatever team they join or you join, the other person is automaticly put on that team, and as a result cannot be stacked out.

I think this is kind of a good idea. I really like playing with certain people. And I love having jokes with them over the mic (don't worry, they're good jokes and eveyone else enjoys them -i.e. it's not mic spam). I hardly get these games any more with the small community. All I think you should only be able to tag 3 people together, no more as clans will stack one side and it will be clan "x" vs randoms.

There would need to be strict rules regarding this if it ever happened.

Teammate tag is a very interesting name for Game-enforced team stacking =P

    i really like this idea.

something like the way squads work in the bf2/2142 (yes i dont really like those games) but the squad feature works well, it is hard to get into a team, but once you do you can join a squad with your friends, and your locked into that squad even through different maps. their names also show up green on the map / hud so its easy to find them and play as a team, you also spawn near each other, increasing the team element (don't think spawning near each other in ns would work though)

you tag your friends in the RR, and have a "squad" even if it didnt mean anything but place you on the same team and make your squadmates stand out a little more than the other players. and the squads would not be broken through out the time you are playing, regradless of round or mapcycles, unless a player chooses.

yes it could lead to team stacking, but program the RR to be smart enough to balance the teams properly.

How do you program a RR to recognize the human element?

    Easy, you give it monies.

Oh, and cheese, don't forget the cheese.

I like the squad idea, but it would only really be useful in large/medium-large games (> 18 players minimum of 9 a team, 3-5 people a squad)

I think Player Squads feature in BF2 and BF2XXX stimulates "lonewolf" player games and delay new players to really get involved into game.
The commander position in BF doesn´t do much things, if something is going wrong, the entire team knows what happened. BF1942 was an anarchy, BF2 with the new weak commander position didn´t remove the anarchy scene.
Better have just clan tags and Commander sets its squads. A new player is benefited with the NS squads concept.
