if they can incorporate the feel and the comedy of the fallout games into an MMO like blizzard did with warcraft, they could have a major success on their hands.
"launch date of July 2010" - so far away <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> we'll be living in a real nuclear wasteland before the game comes out
Sorry to burst your bubble but this (and F3 IIRC) dosn't have any of the former devs with them. It's just a plan to suck money out of the Fallout license.

This? Yes. But Fallout3 has Bethesda behind it, (creators of Oblivion) and they said they're gonna create the game in the genre they can do best - First person.
It's also good to know they're all dedicated fans of Fallout1&2 so it's probably gonna be good.
But it'd be nice to have this one.... lets hope it'll be good.
1. interplay
2. no BIS
3. broke so want lot of $$$
4. no BIS
5. interplay? mmo? ROFLCAKES

Exactly.
All Hearve Caen has left is his rats and not a hell of a lot else.
"Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel" is proof of this. The game was bad enough that its makers not only tried to cash in on the amazingness of Fallout 1 & 2, they even went so far as to choose a name that'd get people confused with "Fallout: Tactics, Brotherhood of Steel."
(I recognize that Fallout Tactics was a disappointment to many Fallout 1/2 fans, but it was a far better game than BoS. And if you enjoy games like X-com, Jagged Alliance, or Silent Storm as much as I do, it was just as fun as Fallout 1 or 2, it just needed to be approached as being in a different genre.)
If you listen carefully you can hear a million gamers cry.

Well, it's sad that it probably isn't going to be a true follow-up but if they get that kind of budget im definetivly interested. At least it will be pretty to look at.

Where are they getting the money? This is ineptplay remember, Harve Caen doesn't have enough organs to sell for capital anymore.
He's only got two kidneys, one liver and such. It can't go very far.
So, when are we going to remember money != good. Let's just take a look at the masterpiece called Star Wars Ep1 and it's budget <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Ruining the fun for everyone again?
I bet you destroyed castles made out of sand or shot balls over fences on purpose when you were younger, didn't you ? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Where did the interplay fallout/fallout2 team go? Troika games, and when that collapsed, where from there? Did they disintegrate?

The key developers were BIS 'Black Isle Studios' and 'Interplay'. Every last man on BIS was laid off prior to the release of 'Brotherhood of Steel'.
I don't hold out much hope for this game, I didn't even touch the last one. That P.O.S. 3d hack-n-slash. I dunno, maybe since the first pair was good and the second pair sucked, the fifth might be decent? If it's an MMO, I trust in it to fail, miserably. The best bet to restore the franchise is a GTA clone, that or an allout BF2 clone.
