<div class="IPBDescription">Need NS Again</div>Now I have a real problem here and am wondering if anyone can help me out. I have Half Life 2 and want NS back but I don't have my original Half Life anymore, can anyone tell me where I can get Half Life or do I have to buy it again? And it has to be Half Life Source correct?

No, it's normal HL, not source. The game costs $9.95 online in Steam. You could probably find it for cheap in a retail store as well. However, make sure you can't just download it in your account in case you bought a package that includes it.

If you registered HL to your steam account (which you would have done if you've been playing NS lately) then you just log in to steam and re-download it.

Thank you both. Unfortunately I don't have access to my original account, but i'll just rebuy Half Life to get it. Thanks Again.

You have to play half-life at least once before you can install NS. Just load up the hazard course, or join a hldm server.

Half Life 1 was in the silver package I bought so I didn't have problems buying it.

Did you install Natural Selection _after_ you downloaded and played Half Life 1?
(You don't have to finnish the game, just have it running atleast once)

Also exiting steam while installing Natural Selection is a good idea. When you start up Steam again it should be in order.
Then check that NS is installed in this directory:
    <b><someDrive>:\<someDirectory>\Steam\SteamApps\<yourSteamHandleOrEMail\half-life\ns</b>

Here's a guide to the steps of installing:

From what I know, you don't have to play HL now to install NS properly. This was only required in previous versions. I installed NS just fine with just having HL downloaded in Steam.

I believe you have to play Half Life Multiplayer still for NS to work. Not sure why though.
