Steam Update 1/17/2007 Changed NS browser?

I know they updated the icons used for the different things in the Server List for most Steam games (NS, CS 1.6, etc)
But since the 1/17/2007 update to the Steam client, I've got this new weird bug with my server list;
<img src="http://hangarbay.niteshdw.com/browserns.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />
Yes, custom colors and such but see where the check box for "Is not password protected" that was usually below "Has Users Playing". Now it's stuck in the middle of the server list itself.
I <i>can</i> move it around somewhat, if I resize my server list, like make it shorter and the "Is not password protected" and it's box can move vertically for some strange reason.
I'm not sure if the 1/17 steam update caused this or it changed some of the settings that conflict with my custom color scheme (found it on the forums, creator's name escapes me).
Not game stopping in the least but would like to fix it if possible.

Fix would be to use the default Steam skin, listed as < default skin >, under Settings, Interface.
As far as I can see, this is an issue with custom skins, and ingame server lists. It's not a thing that UWE can do about it to fix it. I've tried every screen size possible, and I just cannot reproduce it.

I am using the default Steam skin, I'm just using a custom hud color scheme for the server list and background. I'm hoping theres a way around that.
btw how do you change your ingame ns steam skin? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> ty
I don't have this problem (Just checked). Perhaps a steam reinstall is in order <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />

Reinstall Steam, for an issue Steam caused with one of Steam's updates?
Hopefully they'll correct it, this is just not a reason to go reinstall everything. Plus who knows it might still be there after you reinstall.
The Steam 1/17/07 update, which brings it to API v006, introduced a new GUI rendering method, which basically means that all Steam skins produced for previous version will NOT render properly. Which is the exact thing you're getting.
In a nutshell, the NS skin isn't compatible with how Steam now renders everything internally. The skin needs updating to be compatible with the API v006 methods. I don't know how to do it, but there's a few people over at deviantArt that might. Search for Steam skins, and try emailing some of the people who make them
Ok, I've found out the answer.

Ok, that explains my NS browser.
But CS 1.6? It is the completely default browser, no custom gui for it.
And others have said they are using the default for both games, it still happens to them.
With the new version of Steam (API v006), you'll be using a single skin file for everything. I use the Steam 3.0 Metal skin, and everything in game is rendered as default, but the interface extrenally is skinned. I get no problems at all.
See where my point is going? Either ask at the Steam forums, or use the default skin. Nothing more I can help you with.
Then go ask over at Valve, if you're getting an identical problem in more than one Steam based game.

Ok, just so we're talking about the same thing;
When you say <i>Steam skin</i> you are refering to <a href="http://hangarbay.niteshdw.com/steamskin.jpg" target="_blank">http://hangarbay.niteshdw.com/steamskin.jpg</a> or are you refering to this; <a href="http://hangarbay.niteshdw.com/browsercs.jpg" target="_blank">http://hangarbay.niteshdw.com/browsercs.jpg</a> (ignore the red circle)
If it's the first one, then that is my actual Steam Skin. It is the <b>default skin</b>. If it isn't the one you are taking about, then problems persist.
If it's the second one, then yes it is affecting all HL1 games. BUT I know for a fact that the gui isn't necessarily controlled all by all one thing. Why else can I alter my NS browser collors and such yet my CS 1.6 browser stays untouched?
Restarted Steam, made sure I was using the default Steam Skin (even reselected it). Restarted Steam again.
Even with defaults, <a href="http://hangarbay.niteshdw.com/nsbrowserdefault.jpg" target="_blank">it's still giving the same gui error</a>
Ctrl-shift-alt-b.
This puts steam into the gui edit mode. BE CAREFUL! You can seriously screw up your gui using this tool. Click on the errant checkbox and modify the ypos variable until it's back where it should be. For reference, mine's at xpos: 436, ypos: 590.
Hope this helps.

2)Go in servers
3)Extract InternetGamesPage_Filters.res
4)Place it in half-life/platform/servers/
5)Open it and find "NoPasswordFilterCheck" you see "ypos", change the value to a higher one(400 fixed it for me)
